Why is Velasquez pitching tonight

Cause they used wheeler and Nola both on Wednesday and arrieta on Monday and eflin yesterday. they basically Need a starter for Friday and Sunday as Nola/wheeler would be on 3 days rest Sunday, arrieta is going Saturday and eflin would be on two days rest for Sunday. So either Sunday or tonight howard could pitch and they’d have an open spot the other and we have no one better sadly. So velasquez was gonna pitch either tonight or Sunday

https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Yankees-implicated-in-performance-enhancing-drug-3295306.php#:~:text=During%20baseball's%20steroid%20era%2C%2026,more%20than%20any%20other%20team.

During baseball's steroid era, 26 who played for the New York Yankees - 14 pitchers and 12 position players - have been implicated in the use of performance-enhancing drugs, more than any other team.

But four of those championships came in the steroid era. The Mitchell Report was released on 12/13/07 and named the following current and former Yankee players as likely users of steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). The numbers in parenthesis indicate the years the players were on a World Series winning Yankees team.

  1. Ricky Bones (1996)
  2. Kevin Brown
  3. Jose Canseco (2000)
  4. Roger Clemens (2000)
  5. Bobby Estalella
  6. Jason Giambi
  7. Jason Grimsley (2000)
  8. Glenallen Hill (2000)
  9. Darren Holmes (1998)
  10. David Justice (2000)
  11. Chuck Knoblauch (1998, 1999, 2000)
  12. Josias Manzanillo
  13. Hal Morris
  14. Daniel Naulty (1999)
  15. Denny Neagle (2000)
  16. Andy Pettitte (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000)
  17. Gary Sheffield
  18. Mike Stanton (1998, 1999, 2000)
  19. Randy Velarde
  20. Ron Villone
  21. Rondell White
  22. Todd Williams

So it would seem to me that these four World Series victories are tainted:

  1. 1996 – NY Yankees 4, Atlanta 2
  2. 1998 – NY Yankees 4, San Diego 0
  3. 1999 – NY Yankees 4, Atlanta 0
  4. 2000 – NY Yankees 4, NY Mets 1

More cheating in our lifetime than any other team by a significant margin

fake news/sour grapes

I totally missed the 2009 WS - that had A-Rod, Cano and Pettitte all on steroids as well

Just cancel the Cards...just how do you get another positive test.

Friday's series opener between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals has been postponed after a St. Louis player tested positive for COVID-19, according to Major League Baseball.

Trumpet Boy | Know Your Meme

How does one become a Yankees and Eagles fan?  This should be good...

Game cancelled, doubleheader Sunday :phil:

These 7 inning double headers are an enormous boost to the Phillies given their lack of a bullpen.

Phils are definitely the worst team in Philly right now, and it isn’t close. How things have changed since 2008/2009

Well if velasquez is starting in one it won’t really matter in that game lol

Fair enough, but it helps in the other one.

I think he’s going to wind up being a utility player. Sucks cause i watched him a ton at Arizona but he doesn’t have confidence right now and his defense had been less than stellar as well.

Of course arrieta would look At least decent in his last year and a contract year lol.

Arrieta looks much better this year, he looked good last week but those phony Yankee stadium home runs gave a different impression to many people (shocker) that do not pay attention and just  rant like a brain damaged idiot (shocker)

Ummm JT right now
