Got a split on the road, then lost 2 of 3 in Philly. Game 6 was the Joe Carter game. Now my son is 26 and all of this has happened again, including a come from ahead home run in Game 6. My other son will be 26 in 2025. You guys should really just avoid the age of 26
November 6, 20223 yr why would you throw a pitch to Alvarez in the middle of the zone? I mean, obviously it was a mistake, but c'mon. Of course he was going to crush that
November 6, 20223 yr I’m not saying that’s what i would’ve done in that situation but i know exactly what they are gonna say after the game about why they did it. Lefty vs. Lefty with our best BP arm who’s also a lefty. I actually would’ve kept wheeler in to pitch to Alvarez and bregman. Then if they got hits go with Alvarado.

In the end, he was just like Girardi, over relying on the analytics instead of also using his baseball sense. I can't wait to hear his explanation on why they weren't playing double play depth with only a guy on first. I can't criticize Thomson that much. He took over a team in the middle of the season and made it to the World Series.

Yeah I get that but he was badly out managed in the World Series. I mean Dusty ran circles around him in every way. Lets also not let the offense off the hook for their pathetic showing over the last 3 games either.
November 6, 20223 yr All my buddies are losing their minds about pulling Wheeler there. Have the pitching coach and JT come out, calm him down and strategize about the upcoming hitters. Wheeler was DEALING all night. Instead you pull him for Alvarardo with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd - a near IMPOSSIBLE situation for Alvarado to come in and get 2 outs - especially the way he's struggled against the Astros. That may have been Thomson's worse decision since he's been manager. Really disappointing.

They basically made sure Harper never got good pitches. Segura hitting .150. Stott hitting .000 This had nothing to do with the manager.

However, who chooses to continually put NC in the 5 spot in the lineup? Who chooses to continue to have Hoskins bat 2nd? Who refuses to do little things like bunting, safety squeezes, and hit and runs knowing the offense is struggling? Yep, that falls on the Manager.
November 6, 20223 yr Wheeler hit someone who he knew was crowding the plate. Then he gave up a hit to make it 1st and 3rd. That is not dealing. All managers pull Wheeler there. So Segura 2nd? Stott? NC? They have 2 hitters on the entire team this entire series. You can't move guys around to fix that.
November 6, 20223 yr Sorry but anyone defending that move is clueless, If all managers walk of the side of a cliff that does not make it a good move, still throwing high 90s and gave up a hit that if a few feet over is double play, if all managers take out a pitcher because he gives one hard hit ball the game needs better managers

Second, he saw that mofo fold a few nights ago in the same situation and he pulled the starter again for him. F him for that.

Pretty much NOBODY has been hitting.
