Just pointing this out, why did the Phillies and Red Sox have to play a double header yesterday? Both the Phillies and Red Sox have an off day on Wednesday.

Cause baseball in the past didn’t have teams play 21 consecutive games during a regular season Where they have a homestand for 9 games then getaway day and the next day fly to west coast for a 12 game no day off road trip? and have teams on the road trips times for 12 games in 12 days then fly back and play the next day for a 4 game series? The marlins just played 6 on the road (including today) then come home play and don’t have a day off for the rest of The season.

Honestly as soon as wheeler had his bonehead injury and then Realmuto and hoskins got hurt it was over. They have a thin margin for error and missing 3 of their top 7 players was going to doom them. Plus it’s the marlins

Speaking of Realmuto, Since Arietta is gone next year, they will probably resign Realmuto but won't add anything else so they stay under the tax

Honestly the Phillies are notorious for the 4-5 great seasons then long droughts Of mediocre baseball. 93 Phillies the outlier really since 77. 

Yeah, got some key guys out with injury, but still dropped 3 in a row to the Marlins (scoring only 4 runs in 23 innings) to bring us back down to .500 and 3rd place in the division.  And they got a 1 run, 3 hit 7 IP CG from Sixto to boot.  If they let Realmuto walk I hope Sixto goes undefeated vs us for his career for bungling that up.  They'd deserve it.  Would take Middleton selling the team to break the bad juju.

 

The Sixto trade, especially if Realmuto walks, has the potential to go down as one of the worst in several years of Philly sports.

 

if only matt the idiot signed a star reliever and resigned realmuto, we probably would be in a better position. if middleton wants to win, get rid of matt, try your hardest to sign realmuto,  trade some overpaid players away, sign a third pitcher and sign a star reliever and maybe a closer and this team will be in contention next year.

Might be the last time we ever see arrieta pitch.... all i can say is thank the lord. 

Still have life. Marlins schedule isnt exactly easy rest of the way, but neither is ours. Hopefully will at least be an interesting finish.
