The Phillies were losing games almost solely on terrible play at the catcher position, both offensively and defensively before acquiring him. The Phillies lineup offensively is very good — less so without JT, who protects Harper. Defensively he’s also quite good. I see him as a cornerstone piece for the next 5 years, and the Phillies will have to pay him Grandal-money.

I think the Yankees are gonna blow that market out of the water because they don’t particularly like how Gary Sanchez has developed. To me you don’t make that trade unless you knew you had to re-sign him at any cost. That is way too much to give up if you thought that this could only be a two year rental. They overpaid for him if that was the case. You could move him to DH patisserie because at some point in time you’re gonna have to play Harper in that same spot because I don’t think he’s going to age gracefully enough to play the outfield. all I know is if Realmuto leaves then they better be in the kris Bryant market in 2021. You’re saving a bunch of money so you can afford to go get that bat. Have him play 3, move hoskins to DH and have bohm at first.
