Didn’t I say before the season started they were going to use this pandemic as a reason why they didn’t want to sign Jt Realmuto. And here it is. Like clockwork

They didn't lose 2 billion dollars, apparently that was a false report. It more like 143 million. However, I agree, they will use COVID as an excuse to not only not sign JT, but not make other moves either other than the real cheap ones.

I can't imagine anybody wanting to watch this team this year.  Running back the same slop as last year to save payroll so the billionaire can save a buck.  It's like Clark's boss cutting out the Christmas bonus checks and enrolling everybody in the jelly of the month club instead.

He just needs to STFU and hire the correct people to run his team.

Then this came out today from rosenthal. So middleton is probably lying out his ass cause he knows if fans heard and they did this then they’d stop paying attention to the team and spending money

Yeah but what does that mean really? If someone calls and says is Wheeler available and the phillies say NO that is technically discussing Wheeler trade

I’m guessing it probably wasn’t of that nature for rosenthal to report that. I don’t think he would’ve put that out there unless he heard substantial rumors about it. He’s not the type of guy that throws something out there just to get clicks. So he must’ve heard the Phillies we’re at least somewhat interested in hearing what teams were willing to offer for him. If this was Buster onley and passan only then I would make the point yeah you’re probably right. However Rosenthal doesn’t put out rumors like that very often. So he had to hear something of the nature the Phillies weren’t against it.

A lot of people are poo pooing the hire. Saying he’s an all or nothing GM. Will trade the farm for major league talent and likes to spend money, both of which the Phillies don’t have. So for me, it’s a perplexing hire. Does he have a track record of at least developing farm systems?
