I remember a great story that a teammate of Tony Gwynn's told. That before facing Maddux, Gwynn was warning the guy that Maddux was a master, and that he needed to bring his A-Game. The guy got to the plate, looked at Maddux and thought there is no way this guy can get me out. He then went hitless all day.

Maddux and Glavine were amazing at using hitters' aggressiveness to get them out. Maddux working the sides of the plate, changing speeds, out-thinking hitters. Glavine just throwing the ball on the outside black to righties, daring them to try and pull it. All of a sudden, it's a complete game with less than 100 pitches. Two guys with mediocre arms just dominating mentally.

Maddux had a 76 pitch complete game. 70 freaking 6 pitches. For an entire 9 inning game. Only 13 balls.

The team is closing in on a trade with the Indians to acquire star shortstop Francisco Lindor and starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed.

Shortstops Andres Gimenez and Amed Rosario, along with outfield prospect Isaiah Greene and pitching prospect Josh Wolf will be heading to Cleveland.

They could be the worst team in the division for at least 5 years

Yeah sounds like the Angels scapegoated this dude - he had been with them for like 40 years and pitchers all over the league would use his special blend of resin.  So now he's unleashing the wrath

it’s why I thought even when the Astros did what they did that there was way more cheating going on in baseball then players were willing to admit to. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s like two or three other cheating scandals going on and they’re just not as arrogant about it or pissed off the wrong person yet.

5 years for a catcher makes me nervous. I would offer 4/110 and see if he bites. With that being said, if he really wants that 5th year, I say go ahead and sign him. Hope you get a good 3 years of catching from him and if the NL adopts the dh, then he can transition there for his last year or two.

Big mistake.  5 years is 1 or 2 too long.

It is but I’ll take the five compared to the rumored 7 that some insiders were thinking he could get.

Crazy right? After weeks of unanswered messages, you'd think the only thing that would work is a D pic. She must not be into men I guess.
