In some ways I mean a team absolutely should bring him in because he should have never been without a team in the first place. However at this point he's been out of the league 3/4 years. Bringing him in for a work out is one thing, signing him (which is what so many want to see for justice) is another. "recent"? 8 years for Kaep. That's a lifetime in the NFL. And 5 years for Newton is pretty far removed. Cam is a horrible pocket passer and still highly inaccurate.
