So, in light of the George Floyd incident, does Kaepernick deserve another shot in the NFL and is he a starter?

I say YES and YES.

Does he deserve a shot? Sure.  Does he deserve to start? Nope

He wasn't a good QB when he played. He had 2 "OK" seasons. On top of that now he hasn't played in 4+ years?  So if i was a GM I wouldn't sign him just on that.

I think the Pats should sign him, I would love to see him there reeling off a three-peat.

he was decent Qb, but he is still better than 99% of the backups in the league today.

Guess you arent an eagles fan then.  I don't want to see any team do that besides Eagles.

He was given a shot. He had a workout scheduled and everything. Then he blew it off. That day he showed he didn't really care about football.

I mean, when you are the first QB in history to be sacked five times and throw for fewer than five yards in a game, you are pretty much a shoe in for a starting gig.

What are you basing that off of? He hasnt thrown a ball in 4 years.

that fact that most backups suck. like really bad. the hostetlers & foles are the major exceptions. its not a stretch to think this guy could be better than one of the 32 current #2 qbs.

Will Kaepernick find himself a team at last?

I'm not so sure. It's a really tricky one. In some ways I mean a team absolutely should bring him in because he should have never been without a team in the first place.

However at this point he's been out of the league 3/4 years. Bringing him in for a work out is one thing, signing him (which is what so many want to see for justice) is another. From a footballing perspective it may not be a very good move purely because he may not be very good anymore.

If Cam Newton can't get a backup job then Kapernick has no chance.

well assuming he wouldn't be another no show, let him prove there's no chance.

Two recent starters in the SB can't find backup work, something's wrong with that picture........must be the color.

Cam Newton boggles me. Is he still hurt and we don't know about it?

"recent"?

8 years for Kaep.  That's a lifetime in the NFL.  And 5 years for Newton is pretty far removed.

   If you're going to troll, try and put a little more thought into it

I was thinking it was either that (he was pretty beat up) or the $$$ he wants. And there really are not a ton of spots that make sense for him.

I completely forgot about that BS as well. Add that to my list of reasons above on why I would never sign him. lol

Cam is a horrible pocket passer and still highly inaccurate. He is at a point in his career that he is to beat up to be a threat with his legs and without that he is just another horrible QB
