OK, thought about this some more, and the biggest worry I have going forward is clinching too soon and getting rusty.

If we win the next two games, we're 14-1 and clinch everything that we can possibly clinch (I think).  That gives this team 2 meaningless games at the end of the season plus a bye week to start the playoffs.   While we've been resting starters, other teams have been scrapping it out and playing hard.  We could come into the divisional round being really rusty and playing against a team with a lot of momentum.  That scares me.

Interesting thought and it could be an issue. I do think that the starters probably get some time in the final games, but I doubt they get a full game. I’ve seen both sides of this. I’ve seen teams rest everyone and win or lose in the playoffs. The Cowboys went all in last year against us in a meaningless game, got all full of themselves and proceeded to get dumped out the first round. We rested everyone and the same thing happened to us. The Packers got the 1st round bye and the 49ers beat them in their home. Ultimately I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way with this. If I were a coach with a young team then I probably play everyone. With an older team I probably rest guys. I think the Eagles will likely be somewhere in there. The old guys rest and the younger guys will play unless they’re super essential then they probably don’t play very long.

As far as clinching the division and the bye, the eagles would have to really play out of character for at least 2 games and lose, but I've seen no indication of that happening.  I've said all year that they just seem to be on a mission, with a head coach that won't allow them to get ahead of themselves.  Right now, they seemed to be focusing completely on the bears.

The cowpie game, being an NFC East game, is unpredictable.  But, chances are, that game could be the clincher for the eagles for the division and the bye. I think the eagles are tired of hearing how "good" the cowpies are and some media outlets actually claiming the cowpies have a better chance of going to the super bowl.......

I think the eagles have hit their stride and will really be focused on the dallas game with their mission in mind.

As far as the NFC playoffs, i just don't see anybody being so complete on both sides of the ball with multiple ways to beat you.

In the AFC, the bills are dangerous, as is KC......the bengals are playing well.  I like the eagles chances against all of them.

I totally agree.  Not many teams can come off a bye week and perform well. And getting the first-round bye is just another week to throttle down.  This is why I dislike starters not playing much in the pre-season.  They NEED to get geared up.  And that's how it used to be. Now, agents don't want their clients risking any possible injury and push whatever buttons they can to get them to sit out.  Coaches too. What they don't realize is they're making them weaker.  Maybe not in my life but perhaps yours,  have fun watching FLAG FOOTBALL!

The only team that "scares" me (I wouldn't use that word but more concerned about the matchup) would be the Chiefs.  After that maybe the Bills.  The NFC doesn't concern me they should be favorites in all the games. And if/when they make the Super Bowl they should have a lot of momentum and confidence even against the Chiefs.  I think the factor in that game would be our defense.

I agree with this. Only teams that would make me worry are in the AFC

Injuries concerned me from day one of the season.  If ANY team can avoid them, then they can be considered a contender IMO.  I say a prayer to the FB gods to keep my Eagles safe and so far the prayers have been answered.  I respect Karma and those who don't, feel the teeth bite deep into their butts.  I respectfully ask when have you seen a near 100% healthy team do anything other than make a run at the title?

Every single year there are 20+ teams that will never win the SB even if they don't get a single injury.

The Patriots were the healthiest team in the league last year. How'd they respectfully do with all that health?

The Jags are the healthiest this year.

Right now it doesnt matter whether its Dallas or SF, we most likely will have to beat both of them to get to the Superbowlzzz.

So i think more interesting to talk about the AFC. I think KC is still the most worrisome. We dont have a good history against Mahomes and the Chiefs in general.

@opa-opa The bye lets you rest while 6 teams beat the hell out of each other. Then you get the worst one left.

The only way you get both teams is if Dak and Brock Purdy combine to win 3 playoff games.

I am not holding my breath for that to happen.

There is a scenario where Dak loses to Sam Darnold... again!

I’d say it’s the Eagles themselves.  Have to stay healthy and focused.  Do that and they have a chance.

The biggest opponent of success is complacency and I don't see any complacency in this team. They seem to get that you should continue to get better and be even more formidable to prevent others from catching up.

I pull for Doug every week except when we face him but I'll especially be pulling for him this week. Another loss by the girls and we'll be in good shape. The loss we dealt to the Titans is helping them crawl back into their playoff race.

The San Francisco 49ers have won their last seven games, and have so many offensive weapons. Not to mention they defeated the Eagles last season, however this is not the same Eagles team of course slightly not the same 49ers team either.
I wouldn't say that they scare me necessarily as I am sure no NFC team will defeat the Eagles in this post season.
The Eagles are Super Bowl bound, but I can't say that the Eagles will win the SB due to tough teams like the Buffalo Bills.

Every team has shown they can be had. But I feel the Eagles are among the more equipped teams to win a game in spite of their scars.

No sense worrying about the AFC right now. Make it to the SB as we would only have to face 1 team from the AFC.

The 49ers and Cowboys worry me the most. Cowboys are always a tough team because of the divisional aspect, but both those teams have explosive running games and good O-lines. They have the ability to run the ball down our throats and control the clock and number of possessions the Eagles get. That is what ended up happening with the Commanders game. The Eagles have liked to play that role offensively all season. It would be a very difficult game if we were the team trailing and had to have quick explosive drives to put up points.

I feel like the Vikings just aren't able to do that this season, even though they have a very capable running back. So it really comes down to the 49ers and Cowboys. And despite all the 49ers injuries they are getting healthier and should have Deebo for the playoffs.

SF for me. I've been watching their games since trey lance went down and that defense is legit. the addition of McCaffery was a lot better than I thought it would be. there's no team in the AFC that isn't beatable. Buffalo losing Miller weakened them significantly and KC isn't what they were.

Any1 still scared of Minnesota (if you ever were)?

They’re the least scariest good team. This is typical Cousins stuff. 69-62-2 career win -loss record. If there was ever a guy who put up numbers when it didn’t matter it’s him.

The Vikings are viking-ing.

Thkol!

This team can’t really say they’re successful until they actually win something. The Cowboys are the team that constantly fall into the trap of thinking they actually did something when they didn’t. We hear way too much about this team and accountability for that to happen.

I think we aren’t appreciating how little the Eagles turn the ball over and how often many of the teams we fear do. Many times those teams we supposedly fear are bailed out by their own defenses when they make these mistakes. The thing is this Eagles team capitalizes on these mistakes. I feel like we are all so used to the Eagles not being that team we are having a hard time believing we are that team right now.

At this point I don't "fear" anyone in the NFL. The Eagles have shown that they are clearly the best team in the NFL. They lose when they get sloppy and turn the ball over or commit a ton of penalties. If the Eagles bring their A game, nobody in the NFL right now can match them. But if they get sloppy any NFL team can beat them.

I think they beat the Saints easily. I think because of losing to the Cowbells the way they did, their intensity and focus will be right where it needs to be. Treat this like the first playoff game - it's not an elimination game but it does have seeding implications.

SF, a little.

But if they fix the TO issue, and Quez Watkins issue, they are almost unbeatable.

Seconday scares me a bit too. Seems like haven’t made a play in weeks!!

I agree, maybe Big Red and the chiefs. Gannon needs to get his $@#! together.

The injuries are what scare me the most. No particular team. The injuries are starting to mount with the biggest being on our best player. Far too many times this year self inflicted wounds are closing the team in games. Fumbles have been killers. Four turnovers against Dallas p, but the Eagles we’re up by two scores in that game twice! So there it is my two biggest concerns. Injuries and the Eagles own mental mistakes.

After Dallas my third concern.

I think there are 5 legit Super Bowl teams in Philly/49ers/Cheifs/Bills/Bengals.  One of those 5 is winning it all.  There are 3 more teams I consider dark horses who could break up the party and make the Championship game:  Cowboys/Vikings/Ravens.  Everybody else IMHo is a wild card who won't get past the divisional rd.

Just the 49ers in the NFC.
