True but the facts remain that abortion is pretty easy to avoid.

abortion has been trending downward for a long time, along with teenage pregnancy.

I know there's a lot of doom-and-gloom among people who think all news is negative, but the overall trends that you'd normally judge a society by are largely in the positive direction the last 30-40 years. the numbers are even better on a global scale.

domestically, we've got some issues around stagnant real wages below the median that we need to address, but by and large things are better for the average American now than they were 40 years ago.

you wouldn't think it so from the news. but any objective study of key indicators shows it to be so.

Fair enough. Maybe they believe in it but just don't advocate for it then? Or is it acceptable only if you're married? As a Catholic, my perception could also be skewed. I'll rephrase it to say "don't advocate for contraception for unmarried couples."

Without taking time for more research (I've procrastinated my work enough this afternoon!), it seems that in general moral issues like gay marriage, abortion, contraception..issues that "the religious right" or "moral majority" have used as wedge issues over the years are seeing a shift especially with younger generations.

As I noted in the thread, I liked what Obama said in his first campaign that we may disagree about abortion but we can agree on prevention.  Even Focus on the Family which is heavily influential in Evangelical circles has supported that contraception is not wrong and urged people to not fight against that.  I think the perception is still there though so that's understandable.

I’m all for abortion but I don’t see the connection here. Parents could have used the pill, a condom, or pulled out. Not to mention all the other holes. It’s pretty easy to not have to get an abortion or starve a kid.

Liberal logic:

I want kids.

I also can’t afford those kids and they’ll starve unless people give me more for the bad decision I made.

These people arent very smart bro.   They dont know how the sex stuff works

I don’t have a pic for it, but I live in Maine’s state Capitol so I commonly see small groups of protests or people with signs

i was driving past the legislature today and I saw a guy with a sign...

”Jesus couldn’t breathe either.”

I just thought you know that’s probably true

What if back to the future was made by a time traveler trying to warn us about trump?

the problem is that if someone told us in 1986 that this guy would be president and how it plays out we'd lock him up
