Gov contracts are a license to print money. Generally they don’t negotiate on price all that much and don’t ask for a bulk discount. Plus there’s so much red tape they won’t hit you with a "hey can you do this impossible thing by this Tuesday” because in order to change the orientation of one minor detail they need three years of paperwork and approval.

A government contract is virtually an annuity. Once it's finalized it's nearly impossible to lose, so it's as close to guaranteed income as you can get. Investors love that.
