The left literally made it expensive. Trump made it cheap with an executive order, and it was one of the first that Biden's handlers reversed. The florida bill is about sex topics in general, and does not even have the word gay in it.

The good news is that with digital product customer adoption, the product needs to be attractive enough for a user to take the action to access it. CNN+ just folded because their whole business is about manipulating people who are barely paying attention when it just happens to be on. CNN will not survive the decentralization of media, a trend well underway.

I dont get why any company would want to inject themselves into the highly partisan world of politics and risk alienating up to  50+% of your potential customers?

It is is not very smart limiting your potential customers. My guess is that they misread the room based on just how vocal and visbile one side is in the progressive media, and are not aware of how misrepresented or underrepresented the other side actually is.  This is the cost of virtue signalling when you are a company in business with the general population.

What do you think @vikas83, buying opportunity as long term hold?

The decline in DIS stock is mainly a function of the market and now NFLX disaster numbers. The theme parks are a tiny part of the value.

I know you said value for a reason, but just wanted to point out that if recent crowds are any indication, revenue from their parks and cruise line division is about to pop-off this year and drive some pretty hefty profit numbers. The share price is currently down ~20% from pre-pandemic levels, and granted, they might've been hemorrhaging cash for the past two years to keep things running, I haven't looked into it that much. But I do know that pretty much everything is back open and up and running again at the parks and resorts, so this year's revenue will look a lot different than last year's.

Edit: To be clear, I'm referring to domestic parks, not sure about international

I'd think Disney+ would stand to benefit from NFLX at least on the business side.

Not that fundamentals seem to matter so much.

I agree that NFLX’s decline is mainly a function of better content on Disney, Apple and Amazon. I mean…could you pick 3 more difficult competitors if you are NFLX.

As for the parks being busy…they could be gangbusters and it would barely move the stock. The stock value is in the content and Disney+.

Right I guess what I'm saying is that DIS stock is probably taking a beating between the splash damage from NFLX and the press from DeSantis' culture war nonsense. I tend to look at these situations as irrational market overcorrections, and try to assess value as a short term investment.

The stuff in Florida is having almost no impact. The market views it as irrelevant. It is just the broader selloff and the NFLX concerns. Look at any media/tech stock lately.

I bought some. Seems like an easy long term hold
