Keep thinking you can win a ring with Hurts because you cant. Teams figured out Lamar and will figure out Hurts, both below average passers.

Nobody should get carried away with Hurts tonight. He was very good, he was impressive for his NFL debut against such a good defense but it wasn't sensational.

December 14, 20204 yr The problem with that is it's not sustainable for the health of the QB. He can't be running for his life every down and have a long career. Wentz got his brains bashed in trying to do that.
December 14, 20204 yr ideally they'd have a mobile qb who can quickly read the defense & get the ball out of his hands before the rush gets to him. wentz isn't that guy...idk if hurts is either.

Oh I know it's not sustainable, but really the way this oline has been this year it's probably safer right now than sitting in the pocket with a sundial waiting for a WR to come open.

December 14, 20204 yr The way he would hold onto the ball and stand there like a statue with a defender about to blanket him was concerning. That's why I think his brain got damaged for reals.
December 14, 20204 yr Truly, Hurts can’t run forever, but he also hit some receivers, notably on the screen pass, that Wentz routinely misses these days.

December 14, 20204 yr I thought Hurts was able to get the ball out quickly. It seemed like if his first read wasn't open, he'd immediately start to scramble. Not sure if that's by design or that's who he is. Hopefully it's the former and they just didn't want him taking a pounding all game long due to our turnstile OL.

The dude has been on the sidelines watching Wentz try to sit in the pocket and crushed repeatedly. My guess is it was a smart life decision on his part to make a read or two and gtfo. He took no sacks and the biggest hit he took he delivered a dime to Alshon for the TD with like a second to throw the ball. He seems so much calmer moving around and out of the pocket than Wentz has at any point this year. He made smart decisions to throw it away or take a couple yards and get down or OOB. He didn't blow me away at any point during the game, but he also didn't have me saying "WTF, throw the ball away. Why are you taking that sack!?!?!" All and all a solid debut against a top defense. Would like to see him throw more just so I can get a read on his arm strength, which looks average so far. He was hitting those screens and swing passes in stride, which Wentz has really struggled with. @Moderator12 can we uncensor **** (below me)
