What a fool you are.  This never would have happened if we had competent people running foreign policy in DC.  As Obama stated, don't underestimate Biden's ability to F things up.

Barack Obama reportedly said: 'Don't underestimate Joe's ability to (expletive) things up'

Sometimes a good guy that can F things up is just the man for a certain kind of job…

Well the question I’m asking goes beyond fairness … set the fairness question aside for a moment… how are ‘we’ going to help them if we have no money

Ok, let’s wallow into this sloppy exercise…

We’re setting aside any fairness or any global leadership role the US plays as leader of free world. The US has no money, the US economy has completely collapsed, the proverbial MAGAt sky has fallen, at which point the world economy has probably collapsed with us… How are ‘we’ going to help them if we have no money?

I’m guessing NO ONE is going to care at that point. So who cares?

If one thinks we get nothing in return for extending military help/action across the world then one is a fool.

I mean, it's such a hollow talking point that it's almost not worth entertaining.  The right lives in a pretend world where we're constantly going bankrupt but only when there's a Democratic President but magically not when a Republican President is increasing the debt by $8T and personally signing direct payments to every American.  The only reason they even bring up the whole "we can't afford to bankroll Ukraine" argument is because they're too chicken sheet to outright say they're hoping Russia rolls through Ukraine.  Abra's a **** but at least he's not afraid to say what Kz, Zucker, Procus, etc. are actually thinking.

Well actually what I’ve suggested is that Israel cares because we’re safe over here while our economy collapses but they’re stuck over in the middle east

I honestly think you are giving them too much credit, they really don’t have any idea why they’re saying we can’t bankroll Ukraine… they hear Tucker and Hannity squawking about it and just repeat it thinking it sounds smart.

No clue whatsoever how pulling assistance from Ukraine could negatively impact the rest of the world.

If our economy collapses we (and the rest of the world) will all have bigger concerns. There would Israeli/Palestinian conflicts breaking out all across the world…

Your suggestion equates to someone whose biggest concern is how are they going to put their socks on properly after their legs have been amputated.

Would it be fair to say that you think there’s a long way to go before we are bankrupt, or is what you’re saying is somehow we will help despite being bankrupt?

In order for the U.S. to be bankrupt, all other countries would have to stop buying our debt, which would mean they were going to invest in a currency other than the U.S. dollar. I'm sure in the loony tunes world your brain resides in, you're thinking that all of the countries that buy our debt would just invest in the ruble instead, but on planet earth where the rest of us live, that will never happen. The current conversion rate is 1 U.S. Dollar to 77 rubles in case you were wondering. So the answer to your question is... yes. There's an extremely long way to go before the U.S. is "bankrupt".

Well people with amputated legs still wear pants, and I suppose what I’m likening Netanyau’s reform to is their plan for a new pair of drawers

potentially.  Going back to my original point.  We’re obviously heading for financial problems.  Don’t forget though what I originally asked…it depends how urgently the reforms are needed and the consequences of doing nothing…as to the question of whether you try to push it fast or play the debate out slowly, whether you force it to keep simmering or you let it fizzle out

Israel storms mosque, detaining hundreds and prompting clashes amid religious holiday

Israeli police officers stormed a mosque in Jerusalem overnight, raising tensions during a high holiday and prompting clashes that continued into Wednesday morning.

Video from the scene released by the Israeli Police Force showed officers entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where worshipers were celebrating Ramadan, the Muslim holy month.

Israeli police said they’d entered the mosque to remove "masked and law-breaking youths," who they accused of taking over the mosque "in a painful manner." Police accused them of "disturbing and desecrating the order inside the mosque."

Israeli officers fired rubber bullets and stun guns inside the compound, they said. Palestinian worshipers returned fire with fireworks. More than 350 were arrested after they'd barricaded themselves inside, police said.

Overnight, a barrage of 36 rockets was fired from Lebanon into Israel's north.  Yesterday, rockets were being fired from Gaza.  The police went into the mosque the second time after a gang of teens were throwing rocks at cops and setting off firecrackers.

You and I disagree often here, but I can't believe you think these actions are unprovoked or unwarranted.  I doubt very much you would take attacks like this where ever you live without action.

When you make up stuff that I think or believe, you are being dopey.

I think the optics of raiding churches during holy festivals leaves a lot to be desired, especially, since most of what they claim to be after, is rock throwing teens.

If you want MORE violence and rioting, this is a good way to go.

Israeli police clear Muslim rioters from Al-Aqsa Mosque

Arrests of 350 people • Police said they "vandalized, defiled and desecrated” the mosque • Muslim Fajr prayer was held as planned.

Fresh clashes break out at Al-Aqsa, 2 rockets fired from Gaza as tensions soar

"Dozens of young people who were breaking the law, some of them masked, brought fireworks and stones into the mosque with the aim of disturbing public order in the area, and were desecrating the mosque,” police said in a statement.

Police said the Palestinians had closed the doors to the mosque and prevented worshipers from leaving in order to barricade themselves inside.

"Police forces prevented the law-breakers from closing the doors and barricading themselves inside, and helped worshipers leave the mosque,” police said. "The rioters shouted incitement, shot fireworks, and threw objects at officers.”

I think when I go to church this Sunday, I'm gonna gather up some rocks with my co-worshippers and throw them at the cops outside.  Gonna throw some firecrackers at them too.  If they come arrest us, I'll make sure to have our lawyer let you know so you can post in CVON how authoritarian the police were.

When swat comes in during Easter service, in full body armor, injuring 37 people, you will nod and say, "Good job, BLUE LINE!!" even if you are one of the people with the cracked open head, right?

What "worshippers" carry fireworks and stones into church and prevent other worshippers from leaving by barricading themselves in there and then start violently attacking the police?
