October 31, 20232 yr Also, seeing Maxey break out, Im kinda alright with letting Melton be the weak link in the starting lineup, and go for the big splash at the 3/4 spot. Siakam option 1. Grant option 2 with the added bonus that Grant actually isnt on a max deal. So if they are going to have over 60M in the summer, they realistically still have a max slot available even after acquiring him. Heck, maybe he is option 1.
October 31, 20232 yr Any word on the protections added to the 2026 pick? What a great haul by Morey, and the Clippers are truly idiots.
October 31, 20232 yr Someone mentioned a couple 2nd's for Buddy Hield(s). He will expire after this year so it would be a short term solution but could be a good fit to make a run this year.

Im also thinking about this: IF chicago is willing to accept the expiring deals and say 2 first round picks picks for LaVine, you can get him with today's assets. In addition to that, you can still trade Tobi for Grant and Brogdon. Brogdon as a setup man running the 2nd unit with Oubre and Martin on the wings is a very exciting bench unit. Grant cant be traded until some time in January. The Lavine trade hypothetically is this plus the 2 firsts: The starting group of Maxey, Lavine, SF?, Grant, and Embiid is also phenomenal. That SF spot needs to be filled. Options on the roster are Melton, Kork, or House. Can bring Danny Green back. Or someone on buyout marker later on. We can do BOTH of those deals. Or any other combination of deals. Such as your Hield scenario, AND something else big.
October 31, 20232 yr Maybe if that trade isnt realistic for LaVine, you can flip that scenario and send Tobi there. And send the expirinngs Portland's way for Grant. They want out of that contract they gave him.
October 31, 20232 yr It is a bit exciting to see these Martin highlights and think this isnt G-league or summer league. This is stuff hes already done in the NBA so you know at a minimum this will translate, and being only 22, he can develop a lot more. With nick nurse, a coach, and a staff who does well developing talent.

Dude got punked by Suggs as he tried to back him down the other day

I dont expect greatness and 30 or 40 point games like he was doing that season. Hes the 3rd option here, as a better fit than Harris.
October 31, 20232 yr OG will be a better fit, can play defense but will have a Tobi-like contract, at least for the first few years. Lavine is a volume dude who is streaky and can't play d but he should be able to give us scoring in the playoffs when some of the other guys are off. Siakam gives you both offense and defense, will allow Joel to rest a bit more but he will be 30 when he gets his next big contract. Lots to consider. Brogdon coming off the bench would be tremendous.

Zach LaVine has averaged 19.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 15 games versus Jrue Holiday in his career. Zach LaVine has averaged 21.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 10 games versus Derrick White in his career. Lavine is on the books for 43 45 and a PO of 48 million and still doesn't fix the problem of no one to guard Brown or Tatum

But I think Morey tries for someone even bigger than LaVine if he goes for a guard. Not sure who yet.

Clippers L.A. Clippers' 2026 1st round pick to Oklahoma City [L.A. Clippers-Oklahoma City, 7/10/2019] So, if Houston finishes in the Top 4, does that mean we only get a 2nd round pick?
October 31, 20232 yr Draft pick summary: 2024 • First: Own • Second: Forfeited (tampering); Knicks' pick; Clippers' pick. 2025 • First: Own if 1-6 (protected), sent to Thunder if 7-30. • Second: Belongs to Thunder. 2026 • First: Own if 1-4 (protection relay), sent to Thunder if 5-30 and not settled from 2025; least favorable of Thunder's owned picks. • Second: Belongs to Thunder. 2027 • First: Own if 1-8 (protected), sent to Nets if 9-30. • Second: None or sent to Thunder if first-round protection from 2025, 2026, or 2027 still isn't settled. 2028 • First: 1-8 own (protection relay), sent to Nets or Suns if 9-30 and and not settled from 2027; Clippers' pick (unprotected) • Second: Own or sent to Nets if first-round protection from 2027 or 2028 isn't settled. 2029 • First: Own (pick swap with Clippers); Thunder's pick. • Second: Own; Blazers' pick; Clippers' pick. 2030 • First: Own • Second: Own We'll see where it all goes from here. Future NBA draft picks rarely stand still for long, and the Sixers' window to win is open right now. An exhausting summer-long saga is at least over for the time being, but that likely won't leave the front office content to stay put as the new season wears on.

Harden will make the lives of those two easier, he definitely made Embiid's job easier especially in the midrange.
