I will make an effort to watch more of their games if I can but from the few I have seen, I am not that impressed. I understand what his role is but if he is the main guy we target and the rest of the signings and trades are blah, then he is just an expensive contract that won't get us over the hump. If he is part of the reconstruction and we sign a better player or add a couple role players that are good for our fit, then I don't mind him coming in that scenario. I'd prefer we sign him in the off season rather than trade 3 1st round picks for him, if possible. Is not one guy that will get this team over the hump as said before. This team still needs a defensive wing and not many right now that can actually shoot. He fills a need that Siakam nor LaVine can fill. It is on Joel freaking Embiid to play like an MVP in the playoffs and stop throwing dudes under the bus when he doesn't himself plays like crap. That will get the team out of the 2nd round

Still think team needs a traditional guard for Embiid when Maxey is on the bench

I did a dumb thing and didn't consider the fact that we hypothetically traded some of them away for OG and Bogdanovic.
November 4, 20232 yr Cavs just look off. I wouldn't be surprised if Mitchell starts releasing things in the media to be traded. Sixers shouldn't want him, but is next star to go.

So unless she doesn’t want to make the $11 million he’s owed this year and just retire then you are gonna have to just deal with it for a year. Second i don’t know how you pass up on $11 million simply to live and play basketball in Philly for 6-7 months. Third it is the job he choose. It comes with the profession. i get not wanting to move but the nba doesn’t care about that. It’s a job where unless you are a star you don’t have the security of just assuming you are going to stay in one place or demand to not be traded somewhere

Plenty of non-millionaires figure out how to temporarily manage their marriage between coasts. As you said, it's not even a full freakin year. It's a NBA season. Suck it up for $11 million. I mean...assuming this rumor is the real reason he's not here. Seems dumb as hell. Cash in your $11 mil and go wherever you want in 2024.

Which frankly is also ridiculous if somebody’s willing to keep paying you a boatload of money when your career longevity isn’t all that long
November 4, 20232 yr Maybe some of the answers are under our nose. Tobi (assuming he is pretty reasonable with his next contract) and Oubre could be a good fits long term. Obviously need another top player or combo or role players to add to them.
November 4, 20232 yr Dammit. This team is making me believe again. What has impressed me the most with Maxey is his progression as a playmaker. He had some excellent passes today to get teammates open looks. He just keeps getting better. Then there's Oubre, who is looking like a huge addition, and is the type of player they've been really missing. Coaching-wise, it's night and day. Nurse is in a completely different coaching tier compared to Doc.
