The East is really weak especially if Middleton can't get his knee ramped up to 34 minutes a game, then it is a two man race between Celtics and Sixers. Trade Ideas Alex Caruso for Melton and Springer. Caruso is one one of the best guard/wing defenders in the league, metrics back it up, and under contract next year. OG for Morris 3 1sts and swaps. OG is the splash. He is an elite elite wing defender and you need one to guard Tatum/Giannis combined with a career 37% from 3. He and Harris can provide the spacing so Maxey/Embiid can still work Could play Harris/OG with Oubre or Caruso depending how you want to play Wildcard Anthony Black has played well when Fultz was injured the last 10 days or so and maybe they want to just give the keys to Black. Take back Futlz and his expiring for Morris and picks. You don't have to give up any real assets for team camaraderie. He doesn't give you shooting but I think he could be that guard that plays with Embiid when Maxey sits and does everything else pretty well. or Kyle Kuzma, Jerami Grant, Brogdon or wildest of wild cards does Paul George want out lol Wildcard- Jimmy Butler? Ideal fit as a guy who can score when called apon, but wont upset the dynamic of ball sharing on the team and will fit in with the new defensive culture.

If he is one of the major missing parts, might as well take a shot this year to maximize the window. Now with Oubre being out, we could use his offense and defense. Then we don’t have to wear down Batum before the playoffs even start. Two 1st’s, a pick swap, and a second, is that enough? Yall need to not panic and eat the marshmallow. Its like ten games

How long do we really expect Embiid to stay at this level before he sees a massive drop off with the abuse his body has been through already?
November 13, 20232 yr Question for those with more game knowledge than me… is Maxey’s defensive improvement sustainable? It seems to me like many of his big defensive plays are maximum effort plays where he comes into the play out of nowhere to make a stop/steal/block. It seems like that level and type of play can’t be sustainable over an entire season without giving him frequent games off and/or cutting his minutes played. Thoughts?

Always a risk, i agree, and Maxey looks to be a star in Nurses system. If by now you mean this year, sure, should always be looking for the right chance to go all in. But thats a deadline move not a this month move. Gather more info and see where we are at then. Anyone available now will be available then

I think it is bc he is picking his spots and intelligently. Hes not out of control or wearing himself out being frenetic (i see that in Paul)

They should name the team the Philadelphia Panicers. We could be 30-1 and we should still feel uneasy. I prefer to do every little thing possible to insure the best outcome for this team. It is never easy.
November 13, 20232 yr I'm curious to see how Embiid handles this. Does it turn into a Shaq/Kobe situation? During his post game interview he sounded complimentary but then casually dropped that he has a couple 50 point games.

I was thinking the same but I don't think there will be issues for the following reasons: 1. He already won MVP (if he hadn't, this would be a major concern). 2. He has scored 50 a few times and a bunch of other breaking record stats. 3. He went out of his way to say how infectious Maxey's positive energy is on the team (that was also a slight to James). 4. He really wants to win a championship it seems. 5. As he gets older and wears down/becomes tired, he will appreciate Maxey's young legs/energy.
November 13, 20232 yr Embiid is the one who called him the franchise. He shared the spotlight well with Butler, and even Simmons before him. I think it's a non issue
November 13, 20232 yr There is now a rumor (not from any reporter as far as I am aware) that Oubre being hit by a car was actually just getting clipped with the side mirror. Which makes sense considering he apparently just has 1 broken rib. Based on the initial reports that night, I had visions of him being mowed down, or launched in to the air.
November 13, 20232 yr "We are playing together and trusting each other," Embiid said. "It may look like we didn't play defense tonight, but [Indiana] plays so fast, it's incredible with the pace. So they are going to score a lot, but we just competed. We lowered our guard for a bit, but we had Tyrese to help close it out." I noticed the pace Indiana was playing with at times and the 6ers not matching that intensity. That kinda goes with what I said last night- they lull you to sleep a bit with a bit of a weaker starting lineup and then really begin pummeling you when those 3 subs come on. And as those guys end up playing most of the game the onslaught never really stops. You have to be able to wake back up or else theyll surpass you and leave you in the dust. Embiid mentioned that they lowered their guard. That 1st quarter where he had 19, Indiana really seemed to have no answers. But then, the game changed completely.
November 13, 20232 yr Regular season Joel says all the right things, post season Joel hasn't had that chip-on-his-shoulder, refuse-to-lose, whatever it takes killer instinct that it takes to survive and win it all. Do we have someone on the team that can inspire that in him? If not, it doesn't matter what we do, he'll wilt and give up when it gets too tough.
November 13, 20232 yr If I remember correctly, the Maxey pick is all in thanks to Mike Muscala hitting that 3 to give OKC a win and eliminate them from lottery contention. Is that right? I remember we were so pumped at the time that Muscala made a 1st round pick convey to us. And I think some were excited to get Maxey with that pick. Even back then, as glad as we were, we had no idea really, the extent of what Muscala just did for this franchise. An absolutely horrible acquisition as a player for us, gets traded to OKC and gifts us this player, Maxey. What a weird turn of events. For once, Philly got lucky.

November 13, 20232 yr This is a good video. The guy is not an entertaining presenter but if you like breakdowns of the Xs and Os the 6ers are running with Nurse, this is very nice.
November 14, 20232 yr Bucks are only 5-4 and now Jae Crowder will have surgery for a sports hernia and miss 2 months. I doubt he will be the same when he comes back. They arent going to be a major threat at the end of the year.
