What a fun game with Pacers

Indiana may be the scariest team in the East.

We match up with Boston when we have our whole roster.

But Indy looks too fast for us. We beat them when fully healthy but it was still really tough. If we are missing even a little bit, they overwhelm us. And I think even healthy, in a 7 game series, they may wear us down.

Id feel more confident playing Boston in a series this year, than I would playing Indiana.

Wonder if Houston will lose any picks for tampering.

It would be nice if we got some picks like the eagles got from AZ for tampering.

Almost a year ago, it was reported that James Harden was considering a return to the Houston Rockets in 2023 free agency. At the time, all parties involved denied the reports.

Now, Harden is saying that not only was returning to Houston a consideration, but that there was a meeting with the Rockets. Harden was under contract to the Philadelphia 76ers during this time.

Harden said that his representation met with Rockets coach Ime Udoka. This meeting would have had to have taken place sometime on or after April 25, as that's when Udoka was hired by Houston.

"Representation, (Rockets) head coach (Ime Udoka)," Harden told Sam Amick of The Athletic. "That was it."

Harden picked up his player option to extend his contract with the Sixers on June 29. Harden then requested a trade. He was ultimately dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers on November 1.

It was not clarified when Harden's reps met with Udoka, or if it was with permission from Philadelphia to do so. It was also not clear if Harden was a part of the meeting, or if it was only his representation meeting with Udoka.

Should be the start of a 7 game winning streak. At worst, 6-1 in the next 7. Gain some ground on Boston.

Yeah, looked at the schedule the other day and the have to win these games.

Dec 15th is when can start trading guys you signed so will see how long teams wait.

Kyle Kuzma looks ridiculous

Didn't get to watch but for Embiid to have 50 and still is a fight to win isn't great.

Still think the drop off after the first two guys is massive and they need someone to close the gap

I did a few score checks while I was working at other games.

It looked like a tight game the whole time, mostly with the 6ers trailing by about 2. Finally I noticed they pulled ahead either in the end of the 3rd or early 4th, and then held on.

There was a lot to be excited about with this teams defense in the first few games of the year. And now, theyve stacked a lot of poor defensive performances. However, they seem to be a team that can turn it on in crunch time and defend really well when time comes.

For us, the picture is still unclear. For the first half of our games, Tobi was re-born. And Melton sucked. Lately, Melton seems to be consistently averaging around 16 or so a game, and shooting the 3 really well. And Tobi has sunken in to the background again.

Which one do you actually look to upgrade? Or, as we have thought most of the time this season, do we just look to upgrade the bench pieces and leave those Harris and Melton as they are?

I also think its kinda weird that Washington is as bad as they are. I guess they have no true alpha on the roster, but theres a lot of guys Id take on my team.

Id love to have Kuzma on our bench. Maybe more than him, Id love to have Avidja continue his development on our roster. I love Gafford's athleticism at center. Gallinari is a nice vet when healthy. Tyus Jones is a very good PG. Kispert is not a bad young player either.

Those guys should be able to win a few more games than they do. I suppose maybe their culture is just bad.

Looking at their roster, I kinda think a Harris for Kuzma/Avidja is a home run for us.

I don't have a problem keeping Harris as your 4th guy and think he would excel in that role as long as not getting stuck in corners like previous years. They need to keep him involved.

Melton is another 4th, but more than likely a 5th guy on a title team.  Think of KCP for the Nuggets, the perfect 5th guy. Melton is that type of player, but just don't see him on the same level of consistently. Caruso is definitely an upgrade over him, but will be a bidding war.

I mentioned Kuzma the other day, if could get him and Caruso then you have a legit team.  Avidja just got like 4/54 and think money would be better well spent, just don't see him as a stretch 4 the team needs. He is basically a poor man's Siakam

27 points 15 assists ZERO turnovers for the win, insane numbers

man. Lakers are winning.

If the 6ers didnt win the wrong Pacers game they might be in position now to go dominate the Lakers again, this time for the NBA Cup.

We coulda been the first NBA Cup winners in history.

Concur. It’s one of the dumbest things the NBA has ever done. Adam Silver aka Nosferatu is an empty suit.

It's only you and Kate Scott.  No one else on your side.

Were talks that the NBA should start after Christmas because of the lack of interest a few years ago. Now they have competitive games before Christmas and Haliburton is emerging as a superstar in the league. This is a resounding win for the NBA and fans of basketball, to think otherwise is just stupid.  The play in game has been a major win and so has this.

Casual NBA fans have no interest and are uniformly mocking this as a sham event. Fans see this as a lame and feeble attempt to replicate a European tournament model. Hardest of passes.

No interest and yet tv ratings are up 20% compared to last year

And guess what the European model is a success soooooooooo I wonder why another league would try to copy something that is successful hmmmmm

Then don't watch it, no that hard, but whining and saying it hasn't been a success is just an awful take.

correct.

no one knew what it was at first, but I think theres been buy in.

I saw today the Pacers have the lowest payroll in the league. And now their players all have a chance at a nice 500k bonus. The players care. That makes the games better.

Baseball has 162 and there is no "BIST" in that sport.  Watch the games or don't.  This is stupid.

Plus it's only the first year.  If they stick with it, it will grow into being a part of the NBA culture and grow in popularity over time.

What is the World Baseball Classic then, ohhhhh wait.

Not to mention this post season has shown that the regular season matters very little in baseball
