Also according to Shams team not interested in a big move. Looking at a brogdon or Monte Morris type of move. He already tore a part of that knee I thought or had it removed. Monte Morris is cute but doesn't move the needle with having no idea about Melton. Add Bogdanović then means something
February 2, 20241 yr Everything I'm reading is saying this will either be a 3-4 week recovery if he doesn't have surgery or a 6-8 week recovery if he does
February 2, 20241 yr Either way, if he comes back this year, he will be limited. I think I have finally jumped on the HE train. This off season might be the time.

I was really trying to enjoy his regular season this year though. But now we dont even get that. Im not sure we want Embiid having a menisectomy. Whatever longevity he could possibly have (minimal), will be shortened. His knees are bad WITH his meniscus in place. Imagine how bad theyll be when he has no meniscus. He should repair it, and hope to come back next season and make a run. Again. Till he is hurt again. On the 6ers end of things.... they should really push for him to repair it (so it doesnt scare other teams off as much), and trade him at the peak of his dominance. Because as I say every year, the regular season stats are meaningless. How AMAZING he IS, is meaningless. Because he will never, ever, be healthy for a post-season. He can score 70 points, play great defense, increase his playmaking for his teammates, and he still has literal 0 value for this team. Because he cant play in the post-season. If the 6ers dont trade him in the summer, and he gets injured again (we know he will), now his value is going to begin to plummet in the league. He is really close to the point in his career where he is going to have to become a ring chaser rather than the alpha franchise player. Summer will be our last chance to extract maximum value.

It blows my mind we even have to talk about this after the start this year (when we finally have a good coach/system/proper role players) but how many 1st’s would he be worth next off season, 6?

February 2, 20241 yr This really complicates the trade deadline now. Option 1- menisectomy. Embiid is back in a few weeks and we are going for it this year. In that case, whatever the plan was at the deadline, should still be the plan. Option 2- Embiid sits the rest of the season. We may end up in the lottery. Not a terrible option. BUT- do we just go through the rest of the season as is? And hope to make a run at it next year? Or do we sell off all of our expiring contracts for picks, deal tobias for assets, and really tank it to begin the rebuild? I guess we kinda know the answer. The sell off would only happen if they plan to trade Embiid. They wont be smart enough to do that.

Play 40-45 games, no back to backs, take the fines if you need. And then pray his body is good enough when we start the playoffs. Oh yeah, hope he doesn’t get injured in the playoffs. Basically, we are f’ed.
February 2, 20241 yr As I post that he is locking up Clarkson. It’s a shame he can’t shoot the 3 better. Maybe one more year to see if he can.
February 2, 20241 yr Sixers showing a lot of heart tonight. Maxey is beginning to remind me of AI when he drives the hoop - fearless.

It's amazing how we can't have anything nice in this city.
February 2, 20241 yr I guess Maxey told the TNT guys he was going to sit another game. Not 100% but wanted to go with Embiid being out.
February 2, 20241 yr Nick Claxton is "more available than previously advertised" leading to the trade deadline. Considering our major injury news, and the need for a Center already existed anyway.... Claxton and Finney Smith may be a big impact move that doesnt actually cost a ton.
