and no Pivot. Guess they didnt want Reed, or Morey was too dumb to offer him and get his salary off the books for next year too.

His salary next year is contingent upon our playoff success.  It's either we have to get to round 2 or round 3, I can't remember.  Neither look like they are happening at this point.

Its if we finally get past round 2.

We might not. However, if Daryl did a good job yesterday we could have.

I am over the get passed the second round mentality.  These next couples years (if we keep Joel) is championship or bust.

yes. but apparently not this year.

I saw it reported yesterday that one team had offered Chicago a first round pick for Drummond.  I guess that was us.

drama queens on here

according to nbc sports philly, the sixers gave up three 2nd round picks & got three 2nd round picks yesterday...so that's a wash.

so they basically traded:

pat bev (3rd or 4th guard at best)

springer (can't shoot/unplayable in playoffs)

house - stinks

korkmaz - stinks & rumored to be waived

morris - washed & rumored to be waived.

and they got a legit outside shooter in buddy hield & a solid backup pg who can score some in cam payne.

Have you watched Cam Payne lol

Add this bullet

Payne - stinks

Why not add a 1st for Bojan and more picks. He is under contract next year at 19 million so even if he isn't great you have an expiring at a pretty good number that can trade. Not to mention he is another big and probably can't find another player of his quality next year at 19 million.

Read the Bulls haven't made a trade since August 2021 which is beyond crazy. They might be the worse run organization in the league. Why do you need another C so they can get to the play in? Just truly stupid

No big trades were made so I heard. I think the Sixers will be ok with the trade. However, I think Morey knows more about Embiid then we do and it seems like he won't be returning this season. The Sixers slide is going to be a big one. Lottery pick time. Start the "Process." Again.

But then why did Embiid get the surgery that he can be back quickly vs the surgery that would have put him out into the summer.

I took it as Embiid is taking one for the team because he thinks he has a chance to win a title, but Morey didn't hold up his end of the bargain to help him get a title. Buddy is a great pick up, but Batum being out again and Covington knee still swelling is bad for the wings spots.

He is in love with that cap space but for who, 35 year old Paul George? Nuggets have shown you need two legit guys and have the team fit around them, not three stars.

This team is only 3 games from the 8th seed.

Stinks?  I know his defense is not great and he isn't a good 3 point shooter but he seems to be able to handle the rock, assist and be able to get to the rim/have a little mid range.  He is taller and longer than Bev and much younger.

I am almost fell off my chair laughing!  Taking one for the team lol.  He is all about I me me I I.  Isn't it obvious yet?  I am sure he cares about a ring only after all his other accomplishments and individual things are completed.  And he will want to win it his way (being the dominant alpha who gets most of the credit).

Yeah, I disagree in this instant. He is the most dominant player in the league this year and no doubt he could have just called it a season. Every point shows he still wants to play in two  months and I commend him for that.

He had one good playoff run with the Suns and won't be anywhere near the playoff rotation. He stinks.

He wants to come back to be ready for the Olympics.  He didn't call it a season because he cares too much about what people think about him.  You really think his priority is winning a championship up to this point?  Maybe that changes in a few years but he will be more broken down and less dominant by then.  If he stays, next year is his last attempt at winning one with us as the #1 option.

Terq and Council are both going to have 10+ points with a short bench today and Atlanta's terrible defense.

Hoffman kind of summed it up perfectly at the end of his thread.

  not really.  i guess that's why there's interest in lowry & dimwiddie. i was just making the point that they guys they traded away aren't very good. i would've like to see them make a bigger splash yesterday but i kind of expect the worst when it comes to this team.

so the plan is to build an entire roster around embiid & maxey this offseason,..from scratch...using the cap space & picks. that's a bold plan, morey!

That being said, statistics can't measure intangibles.

Lowry has the best pedigree and knows the system,so he's probably the best option.

I don’t know why people are so surprised by this. This is exactly what I said last off-season that their plan probably was. Likely take a step back but still try to compete without Fing up theor 2024 offseason plans and make sure Embiid was on board. The go into 2024 off-season with this much cap space and firsts as possible to construct the roster that they believe is good enough to win a title. It was a slim hope to build that roster but ultimately they only realistic chance they had to try and win a title. After they made the harden trade with the clippers, I do think they were good enough to get to the Eastern conference finals if you added a buddy hield. But I don’t think they’re beating the Celtics. I also don’t think any a series against some of the teams out west.

So when Joel Embiid got hurt, it made a lot more sense if you don’t know if he’s going to be back healthy for the playoffs to make some moves that can help you if he does come back but if he doesn’t keep all this space and first round pick capital to try and create the roster in whatever image they imagine.

My opinion is the only chance to win a title and it was very slim anyway was if they were able to maximize then capitalize on the 2024 off-season. Which who the hell knows if they do. I doubt they do cause they are the sixers and they do dumb things

It won't be.  And we all know it.

With Kork gone, Embiid is the only Process-Era player left on the roster.

Bojan at 19 next year on an expiring is as good as any free agent available.

He will be 35 when next season starts.  Maybe they are going for guys that are 26-29 so that in a couple years, if we trade Joel, we don't have a bunch of old broken vets and draft picks that didn't work out.
