The good news is it's one less player on other teams capable of man handling Embiid. Lowry gave him fits.

I'd say this is more a Nurse move. Lowry knows the system and can help them coming off the bench. I think I still prefer Pat Bev with the off court coaching/leadership he showed, but I understand the move

Morey was after Lowry before nurse arrived.  Lowry chose Miami over us.

Guys only want to come here when they're beyond washed and have no other options.

I was just watching some highlights of him from this year. I was surprised to see he still has good lift on his 3’s. He still has some of that quickness but obviously a step or two slower. How long will he stay healthy? He is turning 38 next month.

He also played under Nurse with the Raptors and I still think that was the key to the decision

I think the key to the decision was idiocy.

Is Lowry playing tonight?

Did he clear waivers?

We are getting smoked tonight unless Maxey goes for 35+ and Hield 25+. Oubre is due for a good game. His slump has lasted long enough. He needs to start hitting his open 3’s and his confidence will come back.

Not sure.

Sounds like Melton is never walking again. When is Batum coming back?

Fun times.

Some different names of bigs who arent generally mentioned during the buyout discussions

4 available big men the 76ers can still consider signing this season

4. JaMychal Green

Probably the most NBA-ready of the bunch, JaMychal Green is the 76ers’ best shot at finding a quality big man. The 33-year-old is just coming off a productive campaign as an important backup for the Warriors last season, and is yet to find a home this year.

Green is different in that he’s more of a natural power forward unlike the other players on this list, but that also gives him an edge in the versatility department. He can play both frontcourt positions, is quite mobile defensively, and has a serviceable offensive game thanks to his three-point shot (37.8 percent last season).

Beter yet, Green is someone whom the 76ers can turn to even when Joel Embiid returns considering his skill set. He has long profiled as a tenable fit next to a natural center, and has been a key participant in eight straight playoff runs.

3. Meyers Leonard

Meyers Leonard exited the NBA in controversial fashion in 2021, but has since turned that around, culminating in a return to the league last season when he was called for late-season duty with the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he’s remained unsigned since the offseason without any suitor during free agency.

Philadelphia should weigh the possibility of signing the 10-year veteran. Leonard, who stands at 7’0, 260-lbs, is among the most physical bigs available in the market, but unlike the other options out there, he’s not a negligible presence offensively.

Leonard is a legitimate stretch-five who play inside and hit open threes from the perimeter, shooting 39 percent from three for his career. He has uncanny court sense, and is great at leveraging his body on the defensive end. His playoff experience is also enough to justify him as a battle-tested addition.

The article also mentioned Favors, who hasnt played in 2 years. And Nerlens Noel.

Green and Leonard are intriguing imo.

Sounds like Lowry has signed.  I doubt he's playing tonight though.

Those are definitely more interesting names than Robin Lopez.

Not Kenyon Martin’s child is starting.

He has to be related to Sweet Lou?

The ball movement tonight has been impressive.

3rd game (since the trades) that scoring has been evenly distributed.

A Ricky Council autograph card I was going to bid on ended up going for 54.99

Crazy.

C4!

It won’t happen but when all players are back, if Joel has a miracle recovery, they should make Tobi come off the bench.

Payne has looked solid since coming here in the trade. When Phoenix got to that nba finals he was actually a really solid bench/role player. If you can somehow get that Payne it’d be huge.
