He's back

Let’s see what he looks like or how long it lasts. Fact is that time he was off the court went from basically 5 to 12. Sixers are +4 (if they blew the whistle when he was down should be +6) with him and -16 without him.

Traffic cone.

Nice of Oubre to start contributing. I wonder what excuses Tobi’s burner account will make after this abysmal game.

Well, on to game 2

Would be nice if the Sixers won this series and sent Thibodeau back to whatever bridge he crawled out from under.  That is one ugly MF’er

Doesn't help that he spends the entire game looking like he's about to cry.

Buddy Hield has been a complete waste.

Let's see if make an adjustment and lessen Tobias minutes.

Lowry playing 39 and back at it on Monday is a quick quick turnaround

Why? That would be an obvious decision. Better to lose.

Couple things

1. can’t be outrebounded by 22 and give up 23 offensive boards. Even if you aren’t a great rebounding team that’s pathetic. Cut that by a 1/3 and it might have been a different outcome.

2. can’t have the bench score 7 points in a combined 48 mins. Also hield had an 0’fer and -16 he was basically out there getting cardio. Batum and Reed were a -20 and -21. Difference in the game was Embiid leaves the floor Reed was absolutely atrocious in the 11 mins

3. can’t play Tobias down the stretch. He misses too many assignments and frankly i think he’s mentally lost.

4. If gonna double Brunson and overpursue then gotta hope the Knicks don’t shoot 46% from 3 on 35 3-point attempts.

5. Need Embiid to play 42-43 mins. Losing him the final 2 mins of the half was the difference. He left it was 5 and by halftime it was 12. That stretch was key

Yeah i don’t think it’s sustainable to have Lowry play 38 mins a night and give you what he did tonight. Can do it game 1 cause he only played 1 game since Monday. heck not sure can continuously give him 30 and not expect a drop off.  Gonna need to use cam Payne and hope he contributes or get melton back (think that’s doubtful).

rebounds were a big issue but really our bench was atrocious tonight.

He looked cooked physically in the second half when he came back from the knee. He had 0 lift or confidence in the knee.

His presence was enough to open up plays for other guys, but that was their chance to steal that game and I can only imagine he is going to be worse in the following games

That’s a fear of mine too. Because he’s going to have to play 42 to 44 minutes a night in this series for the Sixers to win. You saw when he was out and they had to go to Paul Reed that it was a bad matchup for us. So the fact that he’s gonna be playing amount of mins over the course of this series worries me on how his knee is feeling deeper in the series.

Reed wasn't the issue when Embiid was out. The Knicks were hitting 3 point shots at a decent rate when he was resting in the second.

I don't know if it was by design, but they were allowing Hart a bunch of open 3's. He missed them early but made them pay late.

Offensively they struggled to get a flow with him off the floor, Maxey benefited from having him out there and he was able to take advantage of the mismatch, when Embiid was off they could collapse on him.

The downside is Embiid didn't look like scoring unless it was a free throw in the second half. He had no lift and looked worried about the knee giving out.

Tobi was completely useless, maybe they look to go with a bigger frontcourt and move him to the bench. The only reason he looked like he was out there was to rebound and he failed to box out a number of times late in the game giving the Knicks a second shot

they better sit embiid so he's healthy for the olympics.

Yeah as said before the series Knicks best offensive rebounding team and 26th for Sixers defensive rebounding.

A gimpy Embiid so this one stat will probably decide the series.

Knicks bench had 42points/22 rebounds

I think another issue is the Sixers don’t have enough consistent scoring outside of Maxey/embiid. Their 3rd option should be Harris or hield but neither is consistent. And oubre,Lowry and batum can sometimes make up for it but against Knicks and better playoff teams it’s an uphill battle if Harris and hield going to combined for 7 and just be bad offensively.

To me in free agency they really need a guy who they can definitively count on to be the third option. Like when Embiid leaves the court with the injury. They didn’t score a point for two minutes. if you had a trustworthy third option that could step up with Maxey you may survive and Embiid leaving. those two minutes were a big time difference in that game. From the time he hurt his knee to halftime they went from down 3 to down 12. That’s a nine point swing. If you just play even the game may have swung in your favor. But right now don’t think you really trust anyone other than Maxey or Embiid and really Embiid’s knee might be a ticking time bomb right now

Ingram or PG will probably both be available.

Sixers and rest of East better hope when the  NBA adds Vegas and Seattle, Minnesota doesn't get moved to the East. ANT is going to be that good in my opinion.

I’m guessing they go after PG. Frankly, I really would rather not because I think you’re risking a lot for a 35-year-old. You very well might get stuck in a bad contract where he just is diminishing returns and you get something like a Tobias Harris type contract.

I don’t know who’s available or going to ask to be traded, but I don’t think a trade is out of the question. Have picks and the cap space to make that work. they might say we’re gonna sign PG and then use some of those draft capital to build the team around their big three however seeing what happened with the suns I’m not so sure you wanna do that. then again with Joel Embiid being as injury prone as he is kinda need a third star because you don’t know when hes gonna get hurt during the playoffs.

i still think Morey is gonna shoot for Mitchell if he becomes available in a trade. I don’t think it would ultimately work but that definitely screams and feels like a trade Morey would bend over backwards trying to get done.

Him and Maxey don't work either in my opinion. Ball best with ball in their hands. I wouldn't want Maxey usage to go down at this stage either.

Don’t think it does either. But then again i don’t think Morey cares and wants another star player especially one like Mitchell. Tbh if Klay Thompson wasn’t on his last legs he is actually a good fit for Embiid and Maxey. Then again if he wasn’t shot he wouldn’t be a FA.

id like Ingram. My only concern is will he be happy as the 3rd guy of the trio. I ultimately think it’s going to be PG and they use picks to build around Embiid, Maxey and PG.

Same as it ever was
