May 23, 20241 yr The Philadelphia 76ers internally are viewing their offseason with upwards of $60 million in cap space as a highly unique situation similar to when the Golden State Warriors had enough cap space to add Kevin Durant to their 73-win roster, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. Throughout his tenure in the NBA, Daryl Morey has steadfastly believed that teams need multiple superstars in order to truly contend for a title. The Sixers can add a max contract player to their core of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Maxey will be a restricted free agent on a discounted cap hold. It is rare for teams to be have that amount of flexibility to add a third max player to an MVP and a young player about to hit his first max contract. The Sixers are willing to spend future money and sacrifice draft capital this offseason to improve their roster. Paul George appears to be the best player who will possibly hit the open market as he and the Los Angeles Clippers have been unable to agree to an extension. The Warriors, however, were able to add Durant to a roster that also included Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala.

May 23, 20241 yr I guess the good news is that Klay is one of the options if the 6ers already know they had a disastrous offseason. The 1+1 deal is meant to give them flexibility again next summer. So in short, the 6ers are going to try to sign washed up PG, or max out OG (both options kinda stink), and if they fail to do so, they will punt on another season (2 years in a row), and try to get a max player again next summer. (Embiid will be another year older and more fragile by then). Sounds great.... It was really important to have fired Morey prior to this offseason just like they fired Hinkie just when he finally had a stockpile of assets to really begin working with. They didnt trust Hinkie to build it back up. Too bad theyre not smart enough to not trust Daryl either. A far more impactful offseason would be signing Miles Bridges and Malik Monk.

So you sign Klay to trade him? Klay isn't a good player anymore so why are you wasting a year with a high salary on a washed up player.

How does a 2016 NBA cap spike of 25 million so Warriors could sign KD to a team making sure they have enough cap space the same?

Obi Toppin has played well this playoffs if wanna get more athletic with Oubre.
May 24, 20241 yr Why is OG saying he will test free agency? The Knicks beat us and got further plus they have a young core. They have one of the best courts to play on. Our team has a guy that’s hurts every year and Maxey. Doesn’t seem that enticing from a free agents perspective who can pick a lot of teams to be a part of.
May 24, 20241 yr Kuzma is available for two 1st round picks. Would you do that? He can’t shoot the 3 but he is long and athletic. He can be what Tobi should have been. Still only 28 years old.

Both are still young enough to be in their prime for another 4-5 years.

May 24, 20241 yr Im wondering if Oubre is going to want to stay here. Even though he was a good teammate and seemed to buy in to the culture of the city he still at times mentioned how he thinks he is/can be one of the stars in the league. If the team goes out and gets a 3rd star, then Oubre, who was option 3 now fades even further in to the background. Im not sure he wants to stick around for that.

McConnell type https://twitter.com/MavsDraft/status/1792582652857327652?t=Tu6PUyp16L1GVi2eN6PYJg&s=19 Or a Ja'kobe Walters a kid who can shoot but an undersized 2 guard with a 6'10" wingspan. I like the middle of the draft if staying there more than first half.
May 26, 20241 yr I have zero doubt that Morey is going to f up this offseason......sign some over priced old free agent to a massive 5 year deal and that player will undoubtedly get injured in the pre-season and never play a game for the Sixers.
