May 28, 20241 yr This guy might not be our cop of tea because he is only still 18 or 19 and will take some development. But the size/athleticism profile reminds me of a Tauri Eason type of player that would be fun to add.
May 28, 20241 yr The Pacers are reportedly preparing a five-year max contract offer to Siakam. "They understand it's a maximum level contract commitment you're going to have with Pascal Siakam," said Shams Charania. "That's what they're preparing to offer him this summer. He wants to be there. There's mutual interest in getting a deal done."

Salaun is a bit of a project who probably is gone before the Sixers

I don’t think they remotely want to give him that but their hand is going to be forced. Frankly i do wonder how Kawhi takes it knowing he gave up money to stay/help the team and they are going to pay PG more than him.
May 29, 20241 yr Is may be just me, but I am not excited about any of the free agents tied to the Sixers. It may also be that we have be burned so many times in the past of X big name free agent could be coming to Philly and it never happens. I can't recall the last time a big name free agent that moved the needle came to Philly during free agency.

Everything at this point will be a relative long shot to help this team compete at an elite level in the post season. No matter what they do among these rumored options, it's going to be a wait and see and hope they are healthy at the right time.
May 29, 20241 yr Author i think the last "big name" free agent to sign with the sixers is when they gave elton brand the "philly max". seriously...we only get superstars who are way past their primes.

It seemed we actually could have had Josh Smith that year too, but Elton actually asked his agent to check on Philly. Seemed we had bridesmaid syndrome and never even considered Elton would want us. When they reached out, we pivoted off of Josh Smith to sign washed up Elton. I dont remember how much longer Josh Smith hung in the league, but it seems that would have been the better move at the time.

I would say, if there is one guy I may be wrong about, it seems like it would be George- having possibly the most left in the tank. And not costing additional resources to trade for because he can be signed as a free agent.

Giving our Horford his contract blew up in their face. Giving Tobias Harris his contract plagued them for 5 years. Giving Ben Simmons his max extension and he basically quit. Deciding to move on from Jimmy Butler huge mistake. Letting jj walk. might be the worst off-season the 76ers have had in the last 40 years.
