I’m guessing there is no shot of PG for 1 year?

Nope. Why would he ever agree to that?

Yeah I forgot who I was talking about. Someone who wanted to make a Championship run at his age might.

PG is fortunate for the new CBA kicking in. Cause harden wasn’t able to sign an extension once he opted in and was traded due to the cba rules at the time. That said feels like PG is going to wind up in a harden situation if the clippers are expecting something somewhat valuable for PG.

I wonder if the 6ers are less inclined to take PG in a sign and trade for the fact that his cap number will be higher under his new LA deal than it would be if Philly signed him as a FA.

That extra money that LA can give him can affect the rest of the 6ers summer FA plans as in what/how many other players they can afford.

OG is not worth a max deal. But if its between maxing him or George, OG is the way to go. It also doesnt require trading any assets. Even if the price for George should be cheap. Which leaves an Ingram deal on the table.

OG + Ingram is solid.

OG + Bridges is really good.

Don’t know how they afford OG and Ingram. If they sign OG for a max (year 1 42.3 mil) and Ingram is owed $36. They have $59 mil in cap space

Ingram is a trade. Theyd have cap room available so they can go over the cap in a trade without worrying about the 10% rule. theoretically. if theyll pay the luxury tax.

I’m more concerned after acquiring him and paying him and affording it. maxey gets his max. OG gets a max. Ingram has a trade kicker but also last year of his deal and needs an extension. I’m guessing wants close to a max or will test FA. Going to easily be second apron if you trade for Ingram and extend him.

Those are good points. The only counter is a bit far fetched- you sign all those guys (all 3 in their 20s) as your young core for the post-embiid era.

Pay the tax. pay the repeater tax. deal with the consequences till they move on from Embiid, or he moves on from them. He has a player option for the 26-27 season. At age 32. It may be best for him and the 6ers if he opts out and goes elsewhere, or gets traded. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/player/_/id/15355/joel-embiid

The owners only have to survive 2 years paying those taxes until that happens.

Don’t hate the plan of OG, Ingram and Maxey for the future. I just don’t know if those 3 together are good enough to win a title at that point. i think Ingram would have to make another jump.

Frankly i wouldn’t be shocked if embiid signs an extension this offseason. Been rumblings about it on Twitter. They should let next year play out but have a feeling Joshua Harris won’t do that.

kind of important to keep this years pick. which they could do in this scenario.

As well as (in that scenario) trade embiid to stock up on assets as much as possible. Those 3 may not be enough but see what other talent they can add in the next few years, and the post-embiid seasons with those guys as the core.

I’m curious what they’ll have to give up to acquire Brandon Ingram. So gonna have to replenish what they give up in that deal. Also curious in two years when you go to trade Embiid if you are getting anything of great value back cause of the unknown of where he’s at physically and just the beginning of decline due to age. Gotta hope Embiid doesn’t have more injuries and still playing at the level he has.

Not sure if there is any smoke to the PG to Knicks but that would free up OG for us.

idk if it's just fans making stuff up but i'm seeing a lot of derozan stuff today. i really don't like his fit since he doesn't shoot 3's...so hopefully it's BS.

The more people give insight on how his game would translate, the more I wouldn’t mind him as long as the contract isn’t bad and there is another guy signed who is better.

Derozan would help with the scoring when Joel sits. The spacing won’t be as bad if Joel is a 3point shooter for part of his minutes.

i'll have to take a hit of copium if they get derozan.  i mean...he's a proven scorer...just not a floor spacer.

We need someone who can ball handle and distribute besides Maxey. His mid range game is decent and he can be used to score at the end of games. Like I said, I’m not dying for him but if he came for a reasonable deal and there is another bigger signing or 2-3 really good role players fits, I would be ok with this for 2 years.

I dont understand how this guy hasnt been brought back to the 6ers yet. It has just made so much sense.
