Iirc from when I looked it up a little while ago it's 3 years left and the last year is a team option.

PG is an overpay, obviously, for someone his age.  But I'm excited to see this team on the court. Shooting is already dramatically improved from last year with the additions of George and Gordon. McCain too if he is even playable,  or if he remains on the team. 

 

I'll have to admit,  this is a really good offseason for Morey now.  He landed his guy.  

 

There are a few options for adding more to this team yet and if any if these happen I think the offseason has really been maximized and Morey gets a near perfect grade. 

Create the 15 million in space and sign Caleb Martin. Or trade for DFS.

If they don't create that space,  the grade goes down a bit but id still be very happy with adding Jalen Smith.

I also think there's am outside chance he fits Markkanen in to that space but that trade really has a slim chance of coming through. 

 

 

Vet min deals for The Homie, or Morris. And I guess you probably have to bring back Lowry again too.

It's been reported as a done deal as of 3:30am by Woj

I think based upon the cap space, and what was available....the George deal had to get done because there was ZERO alternative. Embid only has a couple years left, take the swing.  Do I think it's going to fail?  Yep!  Was there anything else to do or try?  Nope!

Yeah I'm not being to harsh on the overpay.  It seemed like the move to make. LeBron wasn't available.

The one glaring hole in the roster right now is PF. Starting, and depth. Right now its Paul Reed and Bona. Neither can shoot. We already know Reed cant do much of anything at all.

I hope Morey's focus today is shifted to that spot. 

Top options seem to be Markkanen trade, or DFS trade.

Paul George played 86% of his minutes at PF last year. He IS our PF.

So maybe we just need a backup PF on a vet min if George is going to be our 4 man. In that case, we need a wing with the remaining cap. Bridges please. Caleb Martin fallback option.

I still think of a guy like John Collins as a 4 only. Markkanen as well...

When we struggle with rebounding so much it might be nice to have a more true 4 man.

But Bridges as a 3/4 would be really, really over the top. I kinda forgot about Bridges for a couple days. Now, he might be my top target because we need a 4 and or Wing, and he fits both perfectly. He also rebounds. He basically turns this in to a big 4 rather than a big 3. 

 

Bridges, or Martin. Morey needs to make one of them happen.
