July 3, 20241 yr Reed for DFS may not really work because it may trigger the hard cap. Seems as though that may be the move that has to wait till you can trade Martin after re-signing him on a phony big deal. For now, gotta wonder who we can sign outright, for 9M after releasing Reed. Cant help but notice how washed Lowry is, and Tyus Jones is mysteriously receiving no interest. Might be aiming too high with 9M, but Tyus Jones, Miles Bridges, and Caleb Martin are the best players left outside of DeRozan.

I heard bodner and that makes sense with martin

Him battling Lebron during that time was fun. If he was 3 years younger we’d all be thrilled. What scares me is him falling off a cliff the next two years. If he does year 3 and 4 i can live with as long as we got two punchers chances with him, Embiid and Maxey

Although that 74 games is the first time he played more than 60 games in 4 seasons...
July 3, 20241 yr We should aim for 2nd or 3rd seed next year. 3rd seed probably allows PG and Joel to get as many rest games as possible. Joel has to realize it’s win a ring at all costs. MVP doesn’t mean anything. Win MVP in the finals. Way cooler.

Give him the Oubre style 1+1 and let him walk after the year for bigger money next summer. A 1 year deal back with a familiar coach...major chance for a ring... DeRozan despite his age is probably the best option out there if he's interested and the starting lineup would still round out nicely if you move George to the PF slot: PG: Tyrese Maxey SG: Kelly Oubre SF: DeMar DeRozan PF: Paul George C: Joel Embiid Would prefer to keep George at SF, but like you said, the talent is likely too good to pass up here.

July 3, 20241 yr Like lavert a couple years back but he has shot under 33% from 3 in 4 of the last 5 years. Feel like we need another shooter or someone that plays really good defense that can occasionally hit 3s The excerpt also said DFS not huerter

I posted the thing about him becoming more likely to have to take less for 1 year and hit the market again next year when more teams have cap space. Also said sign and trade unlikely because it locks him in for 3 years, and probably at a number he won't like. Some teams may have an MLE to spend but some of them may also go over the apron by doing it. Then, there's us with a decent 9 million for him and a really good chance at a ring, and the opportunity to play for a coach who is familiar to him for this one year which should help him.

And I love it. Another idea though- Hield for Wiggins?
July 3, 20241 yr Wonder if that takes them out on DeRozan As for Wiggins that would hard cap Sixers at 2nd apron I believe so not happening

Which, I don't think they will. Don't forget, the trade of 9m for Finney-Smith would have capped them at the 1st apron since DFS salary is higher than 9m. So this is a creative way to get DFS without dealing with the 1st apron hard cap. By being hard capped at the 2nd apron they actually have more room to work with.
