not sure if true

Miami is probably out of the playoffs if they lose both Martin, and Highsmith. Butler another year older, no bid additions (unless Im forgetting something), and 2 major depth contributors gone. They HAVE to keep him.

However, if we can get him....

True forgot about that. Not sure when the vet minimum deals have to be signed. Before Maxey or after or doesn’t matter

I would think they can do them after since youre allowed to be over the cap and sign vet mins.

On the other hand, the 6ers can go over the cap to retain Maxey as well. So I guess it doesnt really matter which comes first?

That DFS rumor doesnt make a lot of sense from a feasibility standpoint. As we know the details on the KJ contract by now. The Base Year Contract rule means KJ Martin's contract cant match DFS's money until January 15th. And the 6ers cant hard cap themselves at the 1st apron since they are going to already be over it by the time they finish signing their vet min guys.

From a logical standpoint, it would be really nice to have the team complete right now and play all year together. Tired of deadline deals providing the excuse that they have hardly played together yet.

If theres a way to get it done that no one has imagined yet, I sure hope they do it asap.

DFS starts at PF, so they you have a bench of probably

Lowry

Eric Gordon

Caleb Martin

Marcus Morris

Drummond

Thats a really tough bench.

Yeah my understanding is they can only use 50% of KJ deal until January so unless they are signing him for 20+ mil it can’t work. And even including McCain is 2 months off. I suppose in theory they could sign KJ for 16 and trade McCain and that could do it in a deal that could be done officially before season starts but agree to now. Seems unlikely but possible.

i don’t mind waiting until January but they’ve been pretty lucky with player availability so far. There’s no guarantee the right player at the right price is available then

I dont mind waiting since it doesnt look like they have a lot of work to do at the deadline this year. Nor could they. As they have had to do in years past.

At the same time, it would be nice to just have the team complete for once to play all year together.

At least its going to be pretty damn close to complete this time.

Bronny James not playing tonight. "Light knee swelling"

Thats a really tough bench.

No bucket getters on that bench. They need more firepower there. Gordon can but, at 35 who knows if he still can.

he still has a great looking shot. I guess there may be no iso players. Thats why Id kinda like to see Payne over Lowry. Or, someone else. A better setup man like Tyus Jones or even Fultz.

Keep in mind though, we arent likely to do a full 5 substitution like stupid Doc and Brett Brown always liked to do.

You gotta figure all those players would be mixing in while at least one of Maxey, or George, or Embiid are still on the court.

man I just looked and our first summer league game is against OKC. I say if we can manage to win that, we are summer league champions already.

That's true and the best way to go about it. Id still like to see one more bench piece though

Can Gordon Hayward still ISO? I dont know. Im not sure if theres a bucket getter left. Cam Payne might actually be the best.

This is a reminder of how damn dominant our starting 5 was last year, who unfortunately only played 219 minutes together.

Scary to think how much we have improved that, on paper at least.

I'm not sure what is going on with Hayward, I know he was dealing with injuries again. I think he might be done.

He is cooked

Lol

Maxey now official too

Omg it might actually be happening with the 2001 sixers jerseys

I havent bought and worn a basketball jersey in years. I might have to get a Maxey if this is happening.

The following posts from a facebook group provides a ton of names that can fit in to the cap we can fit with a KJ balloon deal.

I dont think there are any rumors about most of these players potentially being available, but these will be guys to keep an eye on as the trade deadline approaches. Hopefully a few of them will be getable.

Herb jones would be awesome but i really don’t see the pelicans dealing him. I’d be pretty surprised if they did. The rest of the guys on the second part besides Reid I’d pass on for various reasons. Cam johnson is intriguing but $24 mil is a lot

like I said the other day, I don’t think it’s very likely but if Utah thinks they can extend Lauri markkannen and they’re not going to get the draft asset they want at this moment in time, I wouldn’t be entirely shocked if the Sixers look into it at the deadline if no extension is made. I put that at like 1%. Only reason have it at 1 is if he’s still not traded, jazz can’t get an extension done and Morey just says F it he’s another star

At those numbers, give me DFS or Olynyk.  I can't see the Bucks selling Ports but he'd be a good fit.  Herb Jones is a pipe dream.
