Is Lebron saving team USA in all these close games or are all these games close because the offense is getting funneled through a past-prime Lebron? I haven't watched, just curious. It’s only exhibition games so far so they are probably trying to build some chemistry. My opinion is the rest of the world has caught up in basketball skill and this USA team is not nearly as good as other USA teams in the past. Too many one on one guys.

I thought the plan last year to gear up for 2024 offseason was the way to go. It gave you the best chance at competing for a title. Even if the odds weren’t great it was still you best chance. However i thought because it was the sixers they’d find a way to just F it up and we’d basically be screwed. Give the sixers and Morey a lot of credit. Not sure you could’ve done a better job than they have this offseason. This team is constructed to be their best team since the butler team. And might be the best chance they have had since and maybe the entire time since the process started. It likely doesn’t end in a title but can’t say they didn’t have a good offseason when they’ve built a pretty damn good roster of guys stay healthy

LeBron has been playing really good and he is basically the only pass first player on the team. It makes sense to funnel through him he still gets guys where they need to be and makes the right play for those guys.

They smashed Canada who has the 2nd best odds and Serbia, Jokic country. They took foot off the gas this week. I think it's some funny narrative that the rest of the world has caught up. It's heavy in top end talent in Wemby Jokic, Giannis, Luka, and SGA but really beyond that how many guys can play for USA. If you want to say chemistry and years played together then they are more of a "team", then sure. Not to mention 2025 and 2026 draft classes are deep and crazy talented, they all would be picked over those bum ass French kids this year.

I think it was 80% of all first round picks last year played in the G League last year, which was a record. Teams are finally using it for guys to work on specific skills and development and not see as "punishment" It should be no different for McCain. Let him figure out how to be a lead guard where can make mistake and is zero pressure.

Also he was hoping for that golden state trade to come through and would have loved that I'll have to look up the article where he said it. All that being said I'm glad he is here and is happy seems like a great teammate.

That’s cause they were one of 3 teams that could give you a max and only one that was a likely title contender. The truth is clippers and warriors were off the table and Philly was the next best option. Fine cause he’s still here and as long as he plays well for 2-3 years of the contract it is worth the gamble

July 23, 20241 yr 2 questions Is Reggie Jackson better than Lowry? Is Reggie Jackson going to play ahead of Lowry?
