It's official

6ers signed max fielder who was the poor man's Jokic that they didn't seem to play in summer league.

what do you call the chin equivalent of a 5 head? Thats what she has. Despite that, she looks more capable than Elton Brand. Is she taking his job? I dont even know what his title is these days.

What exactly does Elton Brand do?

The 6ers signed and released someone apparently to send him to the blue coats.

I suspect in reality Brand wanted to sign a guy and 5Chin said no.

Fun player and Sixers love love the skinny small off ball guards.

Stupid as hell. They won't, but I hope the council votes it down.

I disagree with the anti-arena posts.  Philly is a traditionally anti-development city.  This attitude contributes to the city being economically depressed.  The arena is being privately funded.  It will revitalize Market East which is dying and is adjacent to the historic district.  It will provide hundreds of jobs for the city.  Downtown arenas have worked very well in other cities.

There's an old saying - don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

City people are going to be coming from work most nights. Not spending time around the arena throughout the day leading up to game time.

Out of city people are going to be driving. Wont find parking until lots empty out after work days. Traffic will be a nightmare. I get out of game traffic within 10 minutes every time. That will end.

City people are also in a fantasy land where they believe out of towners will be using public transportation and so traffic and parking wont be an issue. You can see the parking lots during games. There are a lot of cars there. We arent arriving on trains.

Its not the economic boon people want to pretend it will be. In reality, its only a downgraded experience for most attendees.

I dont need to go in to the city now when going to games. And I dont want to. Id rather go to Camden than screw around in city traffic.

I dont give a sh about other cities now having center city arenas or stadiums. The Philly teams are the ones that have something unique, and its not broken. I get why the 6ers want to move and I support their reasons but in to the city is nothing but stupid.

Philly has a huge center city with a LOT of full time residents.  Center city is not just people commuting to work.  But among those commuters, you will find plenty of people who will catch a game after work.  Plenty.  Before I moved to CC from northeast Philly, if I wanted to see a game, I drove to or got a ride to Fern Rock and took the subway.  It is very doable.  Oh, and there is parking available too.

Market East is like a cemetery right now.  This area is just a couple of blocks from the historic district.  It is in bad need of a facelift.

These anti-arena people are out of their minds.

I am sure you can do that in the city and a lot of people come from there. But again, youll be in work and wont be spending much time in the area of the arena before the game. And there are a ton of people not coming from right in town that you guys fail to account for. For those masses of people coming to games just became a much bigger headache.

No it didn't. Take the train.

again, thats your fantasy world. philadelphia trains dont just extend to the rest of the world. that is literally not a possibility for a ton of fans coming to games. there is no damn train.

It literally sits above a SEPTA train station - and I'm not referring to the Market-Frankford line (although that stops at Market East as well).  And the PATCO line into Jersey has a station at 8th and Market.

When there are games in South Philly, SEPTA runs extra trains on the Broad St. subway.  It will do the same thing for farther reaching stations when there are Sixers games.

You really don't know Philly very well

I just asked my friend who lives in near center city what she thought and she said that its dumb and it is going to  be one hot mess.

So from a current resident thats their take lol.

Im not sure what to think of it, i really like the set up they have now. Ive been to basketball games where the arena is in the the city and never had issues so i dont know.

It amazes me how philly people can't grasp that their trains don't reach the entire world. Like,  you seriously car grasp the fact that there is no train to take for many fans? Really?

#1 - you've proven time and time again that you are an absolutely clueless moron

#2 - I have more friends in CC that support the proposal than your one female friend who thinks it's dumb.

There is this concept called driving to a train station.  Amazing how this guy thinks its no problem to drive to the stadium, but impossible to drive to a train station.
