34 and 10 assists for McCain. Cant complain.

9 rebounds in 17 minuts for Bona. Most playing time he has had.

Good game for Yabusele.

Team is good if theyll let their stars play.

McCain and Maxey are going to need a nickname...

M&M's?

Mac & Max?

I was up in section 217 tonight.  McCain is legit.  Also, the crowd loves him.  There were people in our section who came just to see him.

He has no fear.  We were talking about watching McCain maximize his limited physical tools at 20 yrs old and how it makes it even more embarrassing/frustrating when you think about the waste that was Ben Simmons.  Imagine what McCain would be like if God blessed him with Ben's physical tools?

Speaking of physical tools.  Kyle Lowry.  Bless his heart.  North Philly/local legend and all.  I respect it, but dude is cooked.  He's just an assistant coach with on shorts out there.

We arrive at a connundrum with McCain. He needed to play pretty well to be an enticing piece of a trade package with KJ in order to get another rising star here. But McCain is looking like year 2 Maxey where (some smart people) knew he shouldnt be traded for anything because the team would regret it in the future.

Do you include McCain in a deal or not?

I’d consider trading him, no doubt. Depends for what though. When is he even eligible to be traded?

Obviously depends on what you are getting back. Also i think its a bit to early to know for sure.  Need a larger sample size IMO. There have been plenty of guys who looked so promising, just for them to disappear or be nothing more than a bench player.

he is eligible. But Martin can not be traded till 12/15 I think. Or is it January? Some time later on...

A lot of guys who were a flash in the pan like that had limited skillsets, and the NBA figured them out. Like, Linsanity. Had no left. Couldnt go left. Easy.

Other guys like Ben Gordon I think struggled with mental health.

I dont know that theres anything to hold McCain back. Hes a worker like Maxey. He doesnt really have a weakness in his skillset. And anything he perceives as such, hes going to work on and get good at.

Hes only 20 and hes not athletic at all, yet this looks like it is coming so easy to him.

Youre right, knowing more would be nice. But you  might only have 1 month till the KJ trade goes down. So, the team will have to make this decision rather quickly.

Probably need him to lead the second unit if you are serious about contending, no?

for the long run, you need to keep and develop what young guys you can. Do we really think this team is getting past boston?

Is this the fastest you’ve ever gone from "terrible pick” to "F’n untouchable”?

I was thinking about this conundrum last night and I think the answer is it would have to be an exceptional player to include him but it’s unlikely there will be one good enough to include him that also fits the salary slot they they have with KJ, et al…

He actually kind of reminds me of Austin Reaves. Not very athletic but, has a great skill set that will always impact the game some way. The drive into the lane where Mccain drives into the guys chest and then fades back for the short jumper is exactly what Reaves does.

I couldn't put my finger on who Mccain reminded me of until last night when i watched Mccain and then the late game with the lakers. I always thinking they are gonna eventually shut Reaves down he is to unathletic but, the guy always finds a way to impact the game.

Yeah the last 2 picks I hated were Maxey and McCain. Lol.

Ok so let's put names to it.  Best name I've seen was Trey Murphy. He's off the market after the extension,  but that level of player- you trading McCain for him?

I'm thinking Coby White?

Markkanen was the name I was thinking of but his extension takes him out of it as well.  Obviously, McCain would have only been part of the package but I think his play has gotten him to the level of being a large piece of an offer for a player like that.

Hmm didn't think about him.... Coby white is pretty fast though i thought?

McCain's more like a young Kyrie when he gets going. He's a hell of a finisher around the basket.

Is only one Kyrie really with his rim finishing. He is one of one.

He is a smaller Harden. Both have the same style of play and same type of athleticism, which is elite level ability to start and stop. Not a mistake they have the same trainer.

Trading McCain away when Embiid might be on his last legs seems silly. You have to develop young guys to stay relevant with the salary cap restrictions.

That's why I said fultz before.  What Fultz was supposed to be.  That was harden.

Interesting to see the names we come up with now cause when he was drafted I just hoped we would get rookie Landry shamet contribution from him.

I wonder if the :Eagle_smiley: will hold our stars our of tonight's game because of the quick turnaround from Sunday?

They should.  Nobody wants those guys to get hurt.

So it seems now the plan should shift to combining someone like Oubre or Caleb Martin in the deal with KJ's contract. And picks, of course.
