But if Embiid is already back and they can’t buy a win…I can’t fathom this is just who they are… Ive already said that even if they can go on a tear later on when all are healthy and have had a chance to gel, theyre digging a hole so deep that theyre not going to be able to afford to rest Joel as much as they planned to. So, he will end up needing to play a lot. And will end up injured again even after we suffered through this start to the season.

Team planned on resting Embiid a ton. And knew he was injured. They should have prepared this offseason to play with other players as the focal point of the team. So that missing embiid wouldnt be so detrimental. The season began, and the team was immediately lost not knowing how to win a game without him. Nurse didn thave them prepared. Also, he is still tinkering with lineups a TON. Its like has no idea who he has and who fits. Where was he all summer when this team was being assembled. He/they had no vision of how these guys would fit together? The minute allocation seems extremely stupid. A reliance on old washed vets like Lowry and Gordon with Council on the bench... We wouldnt have seen what McCain was capable of without the Maxey injury either. Nurse right now looks a lot like Doc Rivers.
November 19, 2024Nov 19 I honestly hope they shut Embiid down for the season and dump any pieces they can other than the kids. Tank and get this town another Exciting White named Cooper.
November 19, 2024Nov 19 Someone should be fired for giving him a 3/196 extension when they KNEW he was injured. Truly, a dumb idiot move. I would like to hear someone ask Morey about it.
November 19, 2024Nov 19 Author lowry & gordon offer nothing & shouldn't get any real minutes. hopefully they won't once maxey returns. tbs, embiid is cooked. he should've had the proper surgery on his knee last year but wanted to come back for the olympics. he'll never be a dominant player again if he can't lift off of that knee...and so far he can't.

No choice but to move him at this point The problem is they have an idiot for a GM. He will only want aging vets who will end up sucking and taking up cap space because that's all he knows how to do. Harris is an idiot to have extended DM and he needs to be fired. He is the problem and built this mess. A new GM needs to have the stones to trade his ass for assets or younger players to build around Maxey with. I'd sell off anything else possible as well and take a step back this year to try to get a top pick in the lottery. I don't know what they can do with George, but take a top pick to pair with Maxey, McCain, and the young guys from the Embiid trade and hope for an actual future. Suddenly, they go from an aging team with no future outside of a long rebuild to a young one. What will actually happen is nothing or an even worse move that makes the team absolutely have no chance at a future.

They cant do anything with George, sixers were the only team that could even off him what he wanted in the first place. I doubt anyone has money for Embiid either. Ah yes i remember when people said Morey was a genius and had a masterful off-season.... I thought it sucked but what do i know.

I thought the off-season plan was only chance albeit the slim chance at winning a title. They didn’t have any other chance at winning a title if you were going to move forward with Joel Embiid. Sixers are stubborn and never were going to trade him. There were no other moves they can make to get them to there because they Fed up so many times over the last 5 years that was the only option they had to at least have a sliver of a chance to win title. frankly don’t think their offseason moves and plan is the biggest reason they sit at 2-11. Embiid not coming into camp in shape or hurting his knee again in the Olympics. He never should’ve played for the USA team if his knee was still an issue which clearly it probably was. PG getting hurt in the preseason and missing 2 weeks. Then maxey being out for basically a month. If all those guys are healthy game 1 for the first couple weeks i don’t think they are 2-11. Probably not great either but nearly this awful The issue came down to this, and I said this three years ago, Maxey for as good as he is is not a guy you can build around as your main star. You will not be good enough to win a title with him being your star player. Which means you have to go out and get another big star. And you’re not signing them in free agency because as you saw the best you’re gonna get is Paul George. So you’re gonna have to draft that kid. By the time you draft that kid (if you ever acquire him), maxey is gonna be at the end of this max contract. And he’s probably gonna leave because you’re not ready to win a title as he’s in the midst of his prime years. It’s why I said if you’re gonna trade Embiid then you better trade him and Tyrese completely blow it up and getting a ton of draft picks and starting it all over. They were never going to do that

That right there is exactly why they are 2-11 because those 2 were never going to be healthy together for the entire season and playoffs. Then signing a bunch of washed up role players or ones that were never good to begin with. Obviously maxey getting hurt was unexpected and they would be better had he not but, the other two should be able to pick him up while hes out they are getting top dollar. Again though thats what you get when you still rely on ass-hole embiid and sign old paul George.

Harris and the Sixers were never dealing him as much as you, i, HE and anyone else who brought it up over the years. So the only hope you had to come close to winning a title was to do that and hope for the best besides unwillingness to deal embiid, this goes back for many years they pissed away draft picks, and salary cap on players that shouldn’t have been brought here. Al Horford should’ve never been here. They shouldn’t have resigned Tobias or made that trade for Tobias Harris, which I said at the time they made that trade it would pigeonhole them into a butler or Harris and they’d chose Harris due to age and less of a problem child. Trading away mikal bridges or trading picks and draft fultz. Like I can go back over the last seven years of all the stupid things they’ve done that got them into the position that they were in going into last year and then going into this past off-season. The only chance they ever had to win a title with embiid was doing what they did and hoping for the best. McCain has been awesome. Yabusele is a fine bench player. Martin is what he’s always been and would be better if he wasn’t asked to play a bigger role since maxey, Embiid and Pg all been out and have played 0 games together. Oubre’s contract is tradable so he’s likely not finishing it here as he can match salary. Really Gordon, Lowry were signed dirt cheap and are forced into roles they have no business playing due to Maxey being out and PG being out for the games he missed. Also don’t expect Maxey and pg to shoot 29% from 3 all year either The bigger issue here is Joel Embiid was stupid if he knew his knee wasn’t good and went and played in the Olympics. And the sixers are just as dumb for allowing him to do it and then giving him an extension. If you knew his knee wasn’t right you shouldn’t let him play in the Olympics. And you definitely shouldn’t give him an extension until you saw him on the court this year and said you come in the camp in the best shape of your life ready to go to win a title we will give you that extension. They didn’t do it because the Sixers do what they always do and just allow their stars to do what they want ala Ben Simmons
November 19, 2024Nov 19 According to Shams Lowry called the meeting. Embiid accepted Maxeys words. Embiid admitted he is confused about what they are running on the court sometimes. Players told coaches they want to be coached harder. Coaches told players they need to practice with a purpose, and more attention to detail.
