Not getting a real back up big behind Embiid was a lowkey mustale. Drummond is cooked, while the Magic re signed their 3rd string C Goga Bitadze to a 3/25. He is an actual competent backup.

People cried about Drummond leaving and wanted him back so bad.

Yes he is the best backup center they've had in the Embiid era.

But his fit makes no sense and he's just not very good.  I never got the fascination with Philly fans and him.

Neither did i and he is useless in the playoffs

Sad state of affairs in 76ers world.   A shame really because Maxey and McCain seem like the real deal.  Maybe trade Embiid for a ton of picks and build around those two?

Make everyone happy - Embiid doesn’t want to be here - beyond obvious by now.

Embiid might not even being back much in return at this point. Hes a big cry baby only in it for himself who cant stay inshape and now has a bad knee that probably wont get better.

If people keep criticizing is lack of playing time the Big Softy is also gonna be the Big Mopey.

If we lose the next two, shut down Embiid for the year. He has no value here or elsewhere in this condition.  Maybe he heals and we can use him for one year next year or he is healthy enough to fake a team out for a trade.

Ive been seeing rumors about Chicago wanting to trade, LaVine (again), Ball, and Vuc.

Id take ALL of those bad contracts off their hands if theyd just accept Embiid.

Yes, I know thats not possible under the cap. Just saying.

By the way, thats where we are at. Forget getting any sort of value. At this point, we are at the level of accepting a bad contract, or multiple bad contracts for Embiid at the earliest opportunity to do so. Problem is, at this point, he is the worst contract in the league. 5 years remaining at insane money.

This is getting ridiculous. The guy has played 3 games and we're already talking trades a fifth of the way into the season and 4 games out of a play in spot?

The knee is definitely a question mark, there is obviously more to it with the crappy Sixers medical team. Maybe looking at the team with Maxey, Embiid and George all playing more than a combined 6 minutes together this season will also help.

His knee isn't going to get magically better. He needs to play if at 80 to 90%.

I hope he has been to Germany and Japan for those good stem cells because if not then they are total idiots.

Why would anyone want that contract?

Haha yeah right they did that.

Im still on board with utilizing the KJ martin magical contract to being in someone really good.

But as for this season, last night was an indictment on Nurse's insistence on playing the old guys over the yough.

Council proved he should have been getting minutes all season long.

His athleticism brings a lot more pop to the bench. KJ Martin also played well. Council, KJ and Oubre really brought some above the rim excitement to the game. KJ and Bona added some rim protection.

The back court will handle the scoring load. This team really just needs more athleticism and rim protection in the front court. I think they can be better with a youtuful athletic player there rather than Embiid.

And let the young guys run the court without a slow injured 5 slowing the game down.

He won’t be missed. His purpose was to spell Embiid. That was under the assumption Embiid played well. He is no longer needed with the new direction. He can’t shoot or create space. He can only rebound. It seems like he has stone hands these days anyway. Go small ball with Yabu or let Bona play. Might as well find out what we have now.

Between Joel and Ben, they really knocked it out of the park with those 2 picks. Really read those characters correctly.

Well, its the NBA. In the top 3 of the draft theres not a whole lot of vetting. Youre lucky if you have 3 elite prospects at all, and youre going to be taking one of them. You live with the personalities in the NBA, and often they are colorful when youre picking up in that range.

Its some celebrity whos been coddled for years with his own enterage already.

Joel and Ben came in to the league acting like theyd already arrived and were owed everything. Lots of top picks do.

Yeah, the 6ers failed to ever put an adequate team around them. But a ton of the blame belongs on Simmons, and Embiid as well. They never got out of their own way either.

Most of the blame. Most "stars” realize that they’re the face of the franchise and need to set an example for their teammates. Embiid couldn’t care less about that. It’s too late to bring Butler back to beat that into him.

they signed pete nance to a 2-way deal.  yep...pete nance....larry nance's son & larry nance jr's brother....pete.

IDK, at this point Embiid sort of has a pass…since he’s hit the floor in a Sixers uniform the front office has pretty much f’d up everything by the numbers.  Starting with drafting Okafor, the infamous mishandling of Simmons (while driving off butler only to retain Tobi), the Horford contract, drafting Bridges to trade him for a guy who nobody can remember the name of. Fultz lol…traded away the farm to move up for a guy they probably could have gotten anyway.  They kept trying to run things back doing the same dumb things over and over and over again.  There was also the Coangelo debacle.

The only bright sides of the era are the half season and playoffs we got with Embiid, Simmons, Butler and Tobi.  Then unloading Simmons for Harden…and not caving to harden long term.  Drafting Maxey.  A few FA signings were amazing.  This new rook seems to have a plus starter long term potential.

The time to move him was a season or 2 ago…

his draft profile (before going undrafted in 2023)

Pete Nance is way too old to be looking this unpolished. If you're a draftable senior, you need to show that you can enter the league and contribute immediately. Nance cannot do that. Nance looks like a new born giraffe on the basketball court. Nance has got one of the loosest, highest handles I have ever seen. Nance actually lacks a lot of basic basketball skills. Offensively he is only redeemed by the fact that he shot a great clip from 3 last year. Now he hasn't exactly followed that up at all which is worrying but there is some upside as a shooter. Nance does have some elite length, especially for his position. So, if you just forget that he's a senior for one second, he looks like a real prospect. If a team is willing to rely on Nance being a late bloomer they can be my guest, but I don't think I'd recommend it when there is likely younger players in this draft who bring an identical skill set

As a UNC fan, This hurts me to put Pete this low. He really just is not good. Or at least in our system he is not good. He was one of the highest ranking transfers coming out of the portal, one of the reasons UNC was preseason #1. Now we probably will not make the tournament. Pete is partially to blame for that. He cannot hit open threes right now, Travels constantly, has bad shot selection in the mid range and many other things. One, of the things about Brady Manek that made him special was that he was not a highly touted transfer. He was just a hillbilly Oklahoma transfer. Manek ended up being one of the best things to ever happen to our program. Pete Nance is not that. He does not have athleticism like his brother (Larry Nance Jr). He is slow as well and is just not an NBA player in general.

We are at this point now. Throw crap at the wall and see what sticks. Gotta take chances on cheap, young guys and hope you can find one or two in the near future.

The Sixers put teams around him that probably should have won at least 1 or 2 championships but their "star" lacked the will necessary to finish the job. We'll never win a title with a soft, selfish bum like Embiid.
