Maybe playing him on the 2nd night of a back to back isn't the best strategy since the rest of the team is tired from trying to pick up his slack the night before.

warriors shot over 60% on threes in the first 3 quarters...with steph going 8 for 8. and the sixers shot 29% on threes. 

of course they got blown out. 

maxey has taken a step back this season too...hasn't improved his playmaking skills...which this team really needs....and is struggling with both finishing drives & shooting threes. 

Just a few more weeks until the season starts.

I started watching late but there was also a complete lack of effort on the defensive end. I'd expect them to not be as good defensively on the second night of a back to back that they were shorthanded, but they were sleep walking for around 5 quarters. I initially thought they would play Embiid vs the Kings, made sure they won that and I had the Warriors as a loss. The lack of effort is the concerning aspect, although they were down double digits most of the night so maybe they mailed it in (is that worse)?

This is also true, he had a nice stretch with Embiid back (seems to work really well getting open 3's off screens) but has been shooting poorly for a chunk of the season to go along with a ton of bad shots. The end of that Kings game the turnovers were horrible. Both he and George had no idea what to do and they are getting big money deals and are supposed to have the ball down the stretch.

As much as people want to rag on Embiid for playing poorly and missing games, Maxey and George were supposed to be able to carry this team on nights he missed and haven't been able to hold up their end of the deal. I've expected Maxey to be better this year but he has definitely regressed and is still reliant on having Embiid in the line up to help create his own offense. 

Maxey has looked pretty frustrated out there. It feels like he is also arguing with the refs a lot more about calls than he has in past seasons as well

maxey has been playing a lot of hero ball this season...idk if it's the new contract or what. 

 

back to last night's game, warriors had 42 assists on 53 made fg's.  sixers had 16 assists on 34 fg's. crazy difference there. one team works the ball around to find open shooters while the other stands around watching.

I always remember one of the 6ers coaches saying they want to hit that 30 assist mark  each game.  I think it was Brett Brown during the Simmons era.

I pay attention to the total assists in the box score sometimes and I never notice our team hitting that mark these days.  Probably hasn't happened since Simmons.  

So where does Butler end up? He asked for a trade to get out of Miami.

He said anywhere other than Miami. He wants his 'joy' back and said it would be anywhere outside of Miami. I don't even know who could match the salary in a trade

He has become quite the complainer these days too. Always looks for calls when he misses. Sometimes he is fouled, sometimes he is not. But he now just stands there and doesn’t even bother to come back on defense for a few seconds which usually results in an easy fast break for the other team. 

I was reading yesterday that we don't have bird rights for Yabusele so we will have to try to retain him next year with whichever exception(s) we have. 

Now,  this part about Butler, I don't know if it's right but it's interesting.

They have been much better with Embiid back playing, however they continue to look like ass without him on the court. I'm curious to see where they are placed around the All-Star Break

They won last night against the sucky nets. Theyve come on a bit but they havent been playing anyone tough. We saw what the Warriors did to them. Lets see how much is fools gold once they get in to a tougher stretch of schedule.

maybe he's interested in playing his way into the playoffs as a 9 or 10 seed.

an embarrassing lack of effort last night...and embiid ruled out at the last minute because reasons.  

I think we absolutely need to sucker someone into trading for Paul George.

He's cooked and that contract is going to be an albatross.

 

There's nothing worse than looking at teams like OKC, Cleveland and Houston and realizing that they were allowed to tank and complete their "Process" without the league stepping in and meddling with their affairs.

I wonder what this team would have looked like if they never got rid of Hinkie. 

hinkie is overrated by fans. he missed on a lot of his draft picks...nerlens, mcw, okafor, etc.
