I wonder how far away the league is from making trades using crypto currency?  I bet no more than 5 years away.

As crazy as it sounds - I wonder if we could do a 3 way trade with Paul George where we wind up taking Ben Simmons' expiring contract back as part of the deal and then buy him out?

There aren't too many guys besides Butler who have an expiring max contract to match PG's salary. (Technically, Butler has a player option)

Worth it for the risk of Butler picking up that option.

I'd not buy ben out. He would help the tank.

Sounds like Paul George is iffy for tonight due to an ankle.

Doesn't matter nets are looking to get money off the books so they can rebuild not add guys like PG

Way to kill our dreams in here. Imagine the team sticking this bad and having Simmons back to Boo every night

I'm not saying the Nets would take PG.... I'm saying a 3rd team would take PG.  We would take Simmons and picks.   Picks and players on expiring deals would go to NJ

Not sure who would even want PG at this point with that contract.

Maxey is gonna look a lot better next year when we have McCain who can be the distributor.

Idk the warriors wanted him this offseason but the clippers didn’t do it. Unlikely but maybe they’d still be interested if you could make it work. This works but still don’t see it happening and would be stuck with Wiggins for at least one more years til He’s an expiring contract

Yeah if im the warriors i want no parts of that.

Warriors are 20-20 on the year. Frankly they aren’t going anywhere with their current roster. If they are still interested in PG like they were in the summer this is likely more realistic. If the warriors do it, i think it’s likely cause Steph and Draymond want it

Tbh i actually think PG playing alongside curry is likely better for Pg as Embiid seems to be taking a sabbatical this year. The issue is will he, Draymond and curry actually make it through a season and if GS would still want him like they did this offseason.

Take Wiggins out of it.  Send those guys to Brooklyn. Brooklyn send Simmons here.

LA gets Geothe. And Brooklyn gets expiring. We get Simmons expiring to get out of the gerome contract.

Based on trying to do it on the trade machine the warriors can only take on Paul George if Wiggins gets shipped out somewhere

Justin Edwards can play! He will be a major bench contributor next year.

Untouchables:

Maxey

McCain

Council (super cheap contract)

Edwards

Everyone else is available.

they can all go. maxey is overrated as hell. he's an inefficient, small sg who can't play pg.

Maxey will look a lot better when McCain runs the point.

maybe...but mccain isn't a true pg either.

Yeah.

I dont agree on Maxey being over-rated. But we sure can say that this season so far has been a disappointment for him.

To your point about the true PG, I think the NBA has gone away from that.

Looking at the past 5 NBA champions, you have Boston. Their strength is not at the PG position. Denver, Jamal Murray not really a true PG. Warriors of course have Steph so theres a PG. Bucks are not lead by a PG, and the Lakers, not lead by a PG.

The great passing PG era is pretty long in the past now. Think about the early 2000s where we had Nash, Kidd, prime Chris Paul, Billups, Rondo, Jason Williams, Daron Williams, Baron Davis, Westbrook.

A few of those guys are still hanging on, super old. But the PG position as a whole is not like that anymore because team basketball is not being played. Its all ISOs and pick and rolls. No ball movement with structured offenses.

Good watch on Memphis running a different style of offense and it's all free flowing

I would agree with you after hearing him say that. But If that’s the case, then why the hell were they trying to get pg in a sign and trade during the offseason? They were still gonna have to pay him something significant just not a max.
