February 4, 2025Feb 4 Different positions. Grimes is a guard and Martin is a wing. It's never a good sign that Grimes is on his 4th team and only 24, but thought he was a decent bench guy.
February 4, 2025Feb 4 I'm in the air and they trade Martin Other than the Boston game, he has been pretty mediocre most of the season when he is healthy. Seems like a good sideways trade and they got back their pick and an expiring. Pity it didn't get them Luka
February 4, 2025Feb 4 Author btw, the grimes addition could mean gordon is on his way out. for some reason there's been reported interest in him.

Post tooth removal Gordon has shot at a decent rate

February 5, 2025Feb 5 I really hope we struck a deal for the #1 pick in order to stay in South Philly

Basically traded all those picks, bridges and cam johnson to do nothing of significance with KD. Not going to get the return of what they gave up and nets got picks and then cashed out on bridges too.

It was always about using the loophole where his small salary was able to balloon and match a larger salary to actually improve the team on the court. He was never supposed to be traded for our cap relief. His value was as an expiring contract to the other team acquiring him. For us, he was supposed to bring in a starting caliber player.

February 5, 2025Feb 5 Of note, Boucher and Temple are also on expiring contracts. Just like Grimes is. These moves are all helpful on the court, but do not tie down any cap space in future years. I like these moves. But Im also concerned that the 6ers havent leaned in to the tank more.
