If you can’t trust the Sixers medical staff, who can you trust?

February 22, 2025Feb 22 Do you really think they’re looking to break their home slide? I hope not. I’m probably one of the most optimistic, look at the bright side, Sixers fans, but even I’ve reached the stage where I’m openly rooting for the Nets tonight
February 23, 2025Feb 23 Embiid on the bench in crunch time. I cant tell if that means they were trying to win, or trying to tank.

Ok, Let’s go Bulls!!!
February 23, 2025Feb 23 It was also nice to see that big smile on Maxey's face again when he hit that 3 at the end of the game. Sitting Embiid and letting the young guys run is refreshing, even if theyre going to lose.

But that being said, obviously, the Sixers should go full on tank at this point. But not too familiar with the NBA draft, say the Sixers end up 8th, their pick is only top 6 protected. With the ping pong balls thingy...even though they're 8th the can end up higher? And the converse, let's say they end up 5th worst record, can they get leap frogged because of ping pong balls knocking them out of the top 6? I'm just trying to figure out how this is going to get f'd up.

Each spot they can move up improves their odds of keeping the pick. The opposite is true too. They can snag a high pick from any spot in the lottery, the odds are just really slim. Now, one thing we can all say Morey has actually done well is draft. But ideally, we want to be picking somewhere in the top 4. Its mainly a 4 player draft, then the big drop-off comes.
February 23, 2025Feb 23 Just noticing that the Sixers are a full blown dumpster fire. Fire Morey! Trade everyone. Well, not everyone. Just the older guys. Start over.

In their current spot they have 45.8% chance of keeping their pick with the top 6 protection (they would have dropped to 31.9% with a loss last night). The bright side of that is that IF they keep their pick, there is an 82.2% chance that it will be top 4. I think that it is going to be very hard for them to catch anyone else (of course 2 weeks ago I wouldn’t have seen them passing the Nets). They should have embraced the tank sooner… if somehow they find a way to get ahead of 2 more teams in the race to the bottom, then the probabilities start to actually look pretty good. 64% chance of keeping pick if they get to 5th and 81.1% chance of keeping their pick if they get to 4th. https://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds

February 25, 2025Feb 25 A realgm poster said something about a medical retirement in which Embiid gets his money, and yet his cap number comes off the 6ers books. It requires doctors signing off on it.
