March 1, 2025Mar 1 The 76ers need Hinkie to re-process this team. Maxey is going to be 30 by the time they are free of their toxic contracts and have the resources to add prime players. Unload everyone…including Maxey…this offseason…except Embiid…for as many lottery balls as you can over the next few years. Maxey is a really nice player, but he’s not a 1a guy on a championship team. He’ll have played out his career and his value by the time we find the 1a guy for him to complement. So trade him for the resources needed for 1a. If Embiid comes back healthy-ish next year, you can get more for him at the deadline than you can right now. He’s not in a position where he can complain about the fire sale. Just get healthy, play well, and he can get traded to a contender.

Or, imo Ace Bailey who is pretty much the perfect fit on any team considering how well he can score without dribbling. Also, as we discussed in here, the 6ers can get money back from the Embiid contract if he medically retires. That money comes 1 year after he retires, so the sooner the better on that one.
