I like the pick. Yeah, he’s a senior. But it’s not like he’s Evan Turner.

I see undersized, unathletic center with poor 3% and poor FT%

Hes like an unathletic version of Bona. I dont see how he fits the modern NBA or why he was needed on this roster that already had Bona.

You can't. He isn't an NBA player, what a horrid horrid pick

Could be useful off the bench when we need to protect a lead. He gets rebounds and plays defense. That’s all I got lol.

Anyone else worth making a trade for or is the rest of the group subpar?

You can’t complain about getting the second best player in college basketball in the second round.

He was the betting favorite for College Player of the Year multiple times last season.

NBA is a different game than college

With this vertical he will get all the rebounds

He needs pumps. You might be too young for that one.

At this point, they have to keep Yabu and I dont think they can.

Daryl brags about thinking he has the best back court in the NBA, and he is building by far the worst front court.

He said he wanted athleticism and shooting. Broome is exactly the opposite. Old, unathletic, cant shoot.

I just dont get it. Dopey Daryl is the worst.

This play still cracks me up

They’re calling Broome the left handed Ace! Let’s go! 🤣

Raynaud is still available. Go buy a pick Daryl.

And, hes gone. nevermind

Can we get rid of Daryl Morey?

Don’t forget Harden is a free agent.

My concern with the guard situation is that we'll spend 2 years with VJ as 6th man and Maxey and Mccain starting. One of Maxey/Mccain will fizzle out of favor, get traded for a role player and a useless draft pick, and then VJ steps in.

Hard to imagine the guard situation going any other way over the coming years.

He jumped higher than Raynaud fwiw

They’ll play 3 guards

Doesnt matter for a stretch 5. We drafted Vucevic out of USC and I remember people commenting he cant jump over his wallet. 6ers moved on real quick, and the guy was a double double machine, almost on the level of Kevin Love with his scoring and rebounding numbers. Made a long career and a bunch of money out of being not athletic enough. But, shooting matters. Broome cant do it.

Edgecombe is going to be a 2/3. Hes not really competing for playing time with McCain or Maxey for PG minutes. Hes competing for Oubre's job, and Grimes minutes.

Toohey any good?

Pre-Draft Analysis

Strengths: Toohey is an intelligent, versatile forward whose maturity stood out both in the NBL and at the NBA combine.

Weaknesses: Just an average athlete, he has made strides as a shooter. He will need to become more consistent from beyond the arc to carve out a role at the NBA level, though.

The verdict: Toohey checks some boxes with his feel for the game, consistent motor, length and anticipation on the defensive end. He has sharp basketball instincts, but he'll need to become a more consistently aggressive and impactful offensive threat to use them in an NBA role -- something he took a step in the right direction with this past year. -- Jonathan Givony

Seems ok.

Raynaud shot 35% from 3 on 5.5 attempts

Broome shot 27% on 2.5%. Hell he shot 58% from FT

The game is changing and it looks like Elton Brand made that pick, it was stupid and he won't be in the league in 3 years. This isn't the 90s, it's 5 out basketball or get left behind.

We are bringing back the triangle offense!

It’s the second round. He’ll probably not succeed. However, the 2nd round hit rate of great college players (like Draymond and Brunson) is much higher than that of projects.

Of course, Broome doesn’t have ideal athleticism. He’s very skilled for his size, though (which is a strange combination).

We aren’t talking about a Jahlil Okafor-type player. Broome can catch the ball in the high post and get you a bucket or assist.

Okafor was a bucket. Its a decent comp actually. Although Okafor had better size for the position. In the end, his skillset was already antiquated. And unfortunately for Broome, it still is.

Broome and Okafor is a terrible, lazy comp that will be made by people who look at numbers on paper and don’t watch basketball.

I thought Raynaud was the best player available entering the night, so I’m not going to argue against him. That’s who I was hoping they’d take.
