Yeah, both guys releases are molasses slow so even if Maxey/McCain can collapse the paint, they will be open, but windows close so much faster in the NBA. They both will get sped up and clank.

Yabu was slow too. It helps when youre a big having a naturally higher release point. It is a HUGE concern of mine though watching VJ Edgecombe "make his first 3" in the 6ers practice facility. I posted it in here.

Daryl always has one player he waits on until the market has dried up. Then he either gets his guy, or doesn't and we are left with scraps.

They should make an offer to Giddey and see what Grimes does then.

I disagree. I think he is the most valuable free agent they can sign. He will start or at least get near 30 mpg. And he is still young so he will be a valuable trade asset if there ends up being a log jam at guard in the future.

I don't want Giddey, he can't shoot at all. I also don't factor in any signings or future plans with Joel in mind. If he is there for a few games, so be it. However, they should be building this thing around the young guys.

Unlike Yabusele who seems pretty evenly replaced with Watford, I agree that there is no replacement who will score like Grimes did.

But, I'm still interested in what Giddey would bring as an alternative. If he signs elsewhere, Daryl better be sure he gets Grimes done.

I guess for rebounds and assist he would be fine, but if you can't shoot in the playoffs, its a tough sell. Not that we are going to be a contender in the next year or two but still thinking ahead.

Notable with Giddey, still just 22. Has increased 3% each year of his career so far. Last year up to 37.8% on 4 attempts which is also his highest volume.

PER has increased each year. 18.1 this year. Win shares have increased every year. Box +/- and VORP have also increased each year.

He appears to still be an ascending player, and still very young.
