I don’t believe this for a second. I’m neither pro nor anti Embiid and, if anything, anti 76ers organization. But this is simply misinformation and a smear campaign.

They could have been more specific and they weren’t. Embiid’s rehab would have been overseen by an entire team. Why? Because the rehab of the worst basketball player at a D1 team is overseen by a team. That team involves orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine doctors, professional trainers, coaches, physical therapists….and interns in each of those specialties.

To say that his rehab was overseen by an intern is just a vague pot shot at the organization and really discredits Embiid.

They can argue all they want that the 76ers botched it and are clueless…but the intern thing is just total BS.

Its very odd to be sure. But Im not sure how that discredits embiid? And I dont know if you took the time to read the very long article, but there are both endearing things, and ugly things about Embiid in it. I dont know if it was meant to smear anyone. I think it was just a very honest (by the journalist), down the middle piece. I come away feeling more negative about Embiid. But the pieces about why he is the way he is may make others more understanding.

I am curious where the info came from about his rehab being overseen by an intern. There is no source, or quote on that one. It could have come from Embiid himself. And so, that may be dishonest.

VJ playing?

The team has not even announced it. I think theyve lost interest. They posted an hour ago about team bonding at TopGolf. Theres no news on VJ.

I guess we can assume he is playing since he has already returned from his injury so probably nothing has changed about his status.

Looking forward to some blow by slams.

That’s all fair and I agree, but you know better than I do that some administrative intern isn’t the one in charge of his rehab. Anyone pushing that info has an agenda.

Yeah, Im curious who actually said it. Id guess it was Embiid but dont know.

On the other hand, the story of Sydney Jones...

PHILADELPHIA -- Injuries can leave mental scars along with the physical. Trainer Steven Whitehead knows this from experience, and immediately recognized the signs in Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Sidney Jones.

When Whitehead first encountered Jones this spring while interning with the Eagles, he was alone in the team weight room, wearing a lifting belt to do 135-pound back squats.

"The problem wasn't that he was doing 135 pounds," Whitehead said. "The problem was that he was doing it with a belt on. A belt is used once you get to heavier weights. He was so scared of hurting himself that he was using it with just a plate on the bar.

"I had to get him to take it off and educate him through the process of building his body back up. Sidney just needed confidence and someone to believe in him and show him the right direction."

Sometimes you need the interns to take charge. lol.

I guess, having read about Embiid's trust issues in the article, it is conceivable that he didnt trust the teams trainers, so he may have gravitated towards an intern who seems like more of an outsider.

I guess the 6ers didnt think it was newsworthy that VJ wasnt playing tonight. No matter though. Mark Armstrong can fly just as well!

Here is the only way to see what Jared McCain is up so since the team gives no updates and apparently has ignored him this summer.

These McCain videos are just awesome content.

How do we rate these versus Ben Simmons videos?

Theyre solid.

Im still a little confused about his status since we only get updates from his videos.

In a previous video he said he was asking the team what his status would be for summer league, but they didnt get back to him. It sounded as though he thought maybe he would play? But in his summer league video he said he was allowed to pull up, but not step back. So, it sounds like he still has some restrictions on his activity.

In which case, Im not sure how he would have thought he could play in summer league.

Final verdict- Im glad he does these videos. Theyre not quite as good as Thybulle's were though.

At what point does Josh Harris just cheap out and go with Shake Milton on a vet min instead of Grimes?

I think Shake Milton is under contract, but I see what you're doing there.

Interesting to see what the Wizards do. They are clearing cap space. And, don't the Suns have cap space too?

There could be a sign and trade or two.

Lots of calendar to go still. Big game of chicken played by 4 RFA players.

It's not my money, so as arm chair GM for the Sixers, I would probably send an offer to Grimes at around $16-$20mil per year for 4 years.

I don't think he would take it. I think it's a waiting game to see what develops and what everyone signs for. All these players are holding out hoping for $30mil.

But, sending him a significant offer lets Grimes know we're interested.

The problem with sign and trades is if you receive a player you get hard capped and I think that's at the 1st apron. Teams dont really want to do sign and trade now it seems.

Milton recently became available.

Warriors Exec Issues Strong Statement on Kuminga Talks

" The Warriors are looking for "a promising young player, plus a first-round pick” in a sign-and-trade for Kuminga, according to Slater. "

Just read that article and think the Warriors want too much back in a sign and trade.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

But, let's say the Warriors sign Kuminga and Sixers sign Grimes. Bothe for $20-25 million per year.

Could the Warriors and Sixers then swap the two players? Why not?

Aside from maybe Kuminga is a higher rated player.

That sounds like it would be a sign and trade for both teams, hard capping them both since theyd both be receiving a sign and traded player.

It sounds like Giddey, and Kuminga both want 30M a year, which is why they are both still unsigned. Im guessing Grimes is asking for the same.

Morey sucks. He's way better than Lowry.

I think Grimes is worth $20-$25 million. Don't think other RFA players are any better. None are great.

So, send the 4 year $20 mil offer over to Grimes' agent today.

Ask them when Grimes will be in town to sign the deal? Do the media appearance.

I'd throw in some relocation assitance. Like, we'll move your stuff (and your girlfriends stuff), rent you a house and cars for a year, etc.

Grimes, with Maxey, McCain, and VJ is a good foundation.

Then, I am trading PG for LeBron.

And, sign Ben Simmons for the vet minimum...

All these RFAs are holding out for more, and I just dont know who they think is going to give it to them. RFAs used to move in sign and trades, but he new CBA has all but killed that strategy.

My guess is eventually Grimes learns he has to accept less. Like when Oubre came here on minimum deal. And Caleb Martin came for something like 3/30. Both signed way late because they finally realized literally no teams actually had the ability to pay them the money they expected.

I would love a reasonable Grimes deal, and then a PG trade.

Giddey is a much better player but doesn't fit. Grimes for being on 4 teams in 4 years and Sixers giving him 20 plus would be hilarious.

Maybe. But $20 mil per year could wind up being a great deal.

Signing Grimes is building for the future. Good pairing with Maxey.

He is at least some insurance, as a scoring option, against PG and Embiid injuries completely tanking the upcoming season.

We have contracts with PG and Embiid that are terrible. No return / results for all that money.

We're not sure what we'll get from either of those guys.

Will we get PG for most of the year after he comes back? Will that be enough to make a run in the playoffs?

Will Embiid play at all this year? Will this be the last year for Embiid? The last attempt to make it back?

Do we have enough to make the playoffs without them?
