Monday at 12:05 AM2 days This is ridiculous how well Edgecombe is shooting the 3 ball in the NBA. He wasnt supposed to be able to do this!
Monday at 12:07 AM2 days Im liking Watford. Cant stand Walker. Barlow cant come back soon enough. I hope he takes all of his minutes.
Monday at 12:59 AM2 days Only scored 17 points in the 3rd quarter. Oubre went cold and they just kept going to him. Grimes missed a bunch of shots. Not enough Maxey.

Monday at 01:05 AM2 days I need some Maxey point padding now. Kate said he was the NBA leading scorer. I want him to maintain that status.
Monday at 01:08 AM2 days Grimes is 4 rebounds away from a triple double. Solid production off the bench.

Monday at 01:22 AM2 days Brett Brown used to talk about a goal to hit a threshold of 30 assists. Even if you count Ben Simmons as a PG, 6ers have lacked a PG for years. Since Simmons left basically. And I check that number from time to time in the box score and it seems like the 6ers pretty much never get 30 assits since the Simmons/Brett Brown days. They got it tonight. Great, great offense.

Yesterday at 01:52 AM1 day The 76ers have something really interesting to observe this year. I'll start with the disclaimer that I am neither an Embiid hater nor a fan boy. I think he was a special player who had his body betray him. Whether that betrayal is complete or partial remains to be seen. But this team used to run through him. When he was out, it was a mess. Now, the team runs through their backcourt. When he's out, there's actually some things they can do without him that don't work with him....and of course some areas where they miss him.But he's going to be so aggressively load managed and protected this year that I think he's going to stay healthy-ish and generally available. What that means is we will have a full season of him longitudinally playing...but he's going to miss roughly 1/3 of the games and will only play in about 60% of the minutes of the games he does play. Put it all together, and you have the unique situation of a player with (potentially) yearlong availability who is on the court for half the minutes longitudinally over the course of the season. That's fundamentally different than having a player who never comes off the court have a season ending injury halfway through the season. This was a very long winded way of saying...we will have the very unique opportunity to analyze the 76ers with vs without Embiid. By the end of the year, the sample size will be pretty robust. Team stats like W/L, +/- with him on the court, team points scored, defense....it's really going to tell us something about what he has left to offer. He's the variable and we'll know how much better he does or doesn't make them.

He's the variable and we'll know how much better he does or doesn't make them.I think the picture is already clear. This offense runs better when he is either out or limited. The only thing he can do now is shoot and quite frankly, for the first time, this team has a ton of great shooters. He isn't a rebounder, rim protector, pick n roll threat, and he can't move in transition. He basically stays between both 3 point lines. And now we have young "bigs" I will call them. Barlow, Bona, Watford are all quick, can move laterally, jump, and Barlow and Watford can ball handle too. If you need rebounding, Drummond can come in for spot minutes. Bona is the rim protector. Barlow and Watford can play with any lineup since they have multiple skills. Embiid now is just a very expensive role player. His role should be to get points efficiently in the first 3 quarters and let the young guys close out games, in the games he plays.
