As much as I dislike James Harden, he still was a good regular season player last year. He led the league in assists. Powell, Mann and Morris/Covington aren’t better. You are really hoping for flexibility and maneuvering in 2024 unless you can acquire dame or another star this year which is unlikely However, the positive (if they don’t take on Powell) and they just get expiring contracts with draft picks is that they should have a ton of flexibility in 2024 to make moves and splashes or space to acquire another max player even with maxey needing his extension (do like they did with Simmons to get another max slot before he signs). Granted you’d have to believe the Sixers are a destination for that flexibility to matter. Which they really aren’t.

Similar to harden where he’s not been good as in the past, been hurt and gonna be 32 in august.
June 30, 20232 yr Ive read that the Clippers arent offering George, and Ive also ready they dont want to include any "prized young players" which mentions Hyland, and Mann. If we cant get any of those 3 in there, they can F off. Not doing a deal without getting any of those guys.

You’d essentially be taking powell off their hands which they need and want. So you’re not getting rewarded by the clippers for doing that. And they badly need him off because they don’t want to be in the second apron with him. That’s why that rumor came out two days ago with him and trying to dump him. Everybody else that they are giving you are just marginal NBA players. I would rather just sit with James Harden for a year and get the salary cap relief at the end of the year then help the clippers and get whatever crap they feel like parting with. They can F off and stick with the same team they had last year that can’t stay healthy and badly needs a point guard and underachieved yet again. and with Harden, he has to play this year. He can’t do what he did with the Rockets and the nets. He was going to go to free agency this year and it turns out nobody wanted to pay him what he thought he was worth. So if he pulls that stunt again, you think getting the free agency next year at 35 and gonna get the money that he wants then? He’s going to get even less. So he can’t really dick around like he did with the Nets and Rockets because he’s older now and people didn’t value him the way he thought prior to this.
