Thats Reaves contract is BS.

Last year the league stepped in and helped the lakers make 2 awesome depth building trades (one which hurt the 6ers), and now somehow they are signing a ton of FAs under market value. Seems like more league interference. They are trying to hand LeBron another championship.

Why Spurs didn't offer them the 100 to F with them was dumb

Toppin to pacers for 2 second rounders

Wait what. Toppin can play.

Cough Embiid cough

Harden and Maxey for Lillard is bad enough to believe.

He’s only going to Miami.  Any rumor with any other team is a waste of time

wow i can’t believe he got that contract lol

I would too. Gobert got 4 first rounders  if I’m Portland 4 is a minimum. It’s why brooklyn was likely mentioned. They can give anywhere from 4-7 and expiring contracts. Issue for nets is they give all that and have nothing left besides cam, lillard, bridges and nurkic

Rockets, like what are you doing

Do you just trade Embiid now? Getting a bunch of bench guys for Harden and LaVine ain't it.

They're not trading embiid unless he asks out. Lavine would give them much needed athleticism.  Let maxey run the point & see how it goes.

LaVine and Maxey is a fun backcourt.

Whoever they add for the MLE could add to the team as well.

Might be entertaining enough...

I don't think they'll trade embiid unless he requests it.

Id also hope they wouldn't after they trade for LaVine. If they know they're going to trade Embiid then they shouldn't go for LaVine. They should be going for expiring contacts and draft picks.

if they trade for lavine, I wonder if they'd have to keep tobi to let his contract expire so they can pay maxey next off-season.

Who guards Butler Dame or Brown Tatum

Tucker at some point he will fall off a cliff and no one else on the roster.

Try to sign PJ Washington?

Grant Williams is one of the guys I have my eye on for possible MLE money.

Makes Tucker expendable is he's unhappy or Nurse hates him.

Or, fills the Jalen McDaniels spot who we just let go.

Just how I see it, I think the 76ers want to have the ultimate cap flexibility going into the 2024 off-season. If they somehow trade P.J. Tucker and James Harden (or let Harden’s contract expire and Tucker opts out [potential he does at his age and gets a 2 year deal]) and take on expiring contracts then in a year you are going to have a ton of flexibility as really you’d just have maxey’s cap hold and embiid’s contracts on the books going into the 2024 offseason. morey wants that ability as he didn’t get it when he took over

we all understand and think Philadelphia is not a destination place. I don’t think the Sixers or morey look at it that way. So they probably want all this flexibility thinking that next off-season they’re going to make a big splash and put the team around the embiid that can win a title.

I tend to think the sixers probably informed embiid about what their intentions were this offseason and their bigger picture. I tend to think whatever they do in the 2024 off-season is going to dictate whether or not Joel Embiid asks to be traded from the organization. He’s clearly not doing it this year if Bob cooney is right that due to his extension kicking in they can’t at the moment.

This is a very optimistic take

don’t think it’s optimism. IMO makes the most sense with info that’s come out with maxey holding off in an extension to have a potential max slot in 2024 offseason and looking at what they’d have on their roster at the end of the year if they don’t add any contracts with multiple years left on it.

the negative in all this is that morey/sixers think this way about 2024 flexibility and it means nothing as no one wants to come here as Philly isn’t a destination place for FA.

Says something about Embiid as well. Nobody wants to play with him or thinks he can help them win.

It's logical to think they'll preserve cap space for next summer and players would understand and accept that.

But time and again we see players be impatient,  illogical,  and dumb.

Hopefully Embiid is OK with it.

On that note saw someone say on realgm that we should trade for DeRozan, not LaVine because DeRozan is a nice 28M expiring.

Fits with the 2024 offseason plan while keeping us fairly relevant this year.

Would make more sense with derozan. Frankly for a year it’s not a bad move for what you said.

I agree it could turn out disastrous if embiid becomes impatient and doesn’t like where it’s going. That said if they do this better nail the 2024 offseason otherwise embiid is definitely asking out and their plan basically failed
