They made the right choice

Apparently Lillard has a 63M player option coming up soon.

Seems like too much.

Game today

In that case, Dame will not be possible. Maxey is the only trade chip that would entice Portland. The expiring Harris contract is nice, but that’s really all the 76ers can offer.

They have the expiring Harden contact.

dame doesn't smile enough. do not want. :nonono:

Hats off to embiid if he truly feels that way. Like I still feel upset that they didn’t let him finish the job he started just to see what he would’ve accomplished, and the NBA is OK with OKC basically doing the same thing except not glorifying it. However, the 76ers also Fed him multiple time. Like off-season were they let Butler go, signed Horford, gave tobias and Ben Simmons an extension.

Then why not just get Powell and Mann for Harden and move on. To me that deal is actually pretty fair

i feel like they're kind of stuck until the harden trade happens...don't know how much cap space (if any) they have to use or what positions they need to fill.

I don’t think they want Powell due to his contract and not having the flexibility to potentially have close to a couple max slots in 2024 offseason (either Lowe or windhorst mentioned this). Also think the clippers don’t want to give up Mann based off what’s been reported

i feel like they want tobi's contract to expire to offset the contract maxey will get next offseason.

In fairness with tobias, you don’t want to take back bad contracts or contracts that aren’t expiring. According to wondhorst/Lowe if the sixers just let harden and Harris walk that next offseason they have close to 2 max slots available with just embiid and maxey’s cap hold on the books. Would be the first time the sixers have significant cap and flexibility since we pissed it away on Simmons, Harris and horford. I think that’s an issue besides sixers over asking price. This is playing out like they are gearing for a major splash(es) in 2024. And if they F up embiid is gone

a season with a disgruntled harden will be fun.

Frankly he has to play well to even get a solid 1 year deal next year. His dumb@$$ and agent has made a ton of mistakes with him and contracts. Him opting in made it so he can’t sign an extension until the 2024 offseason. He’s gonna be 35 then. The only way he gets the years and money he wants is if he plays well and especially on the playoffs. Otherwise if he pulls what he did with the rockets and nets or just plays poorly then he’s gonna wind up potentially going down a russell westbrook path (don’t think to that extreme). Ryan Russelo discussed it and how the league is looking at this if he stays there.

He needs to perform if he wants to get one last payday which is the positive here

lol

Sixers are already on the clock with Embiid and to tell him to wait a year in hopes you can get max guy in 24 who are Siakam and Murray. Could have just had Murray 2 years ago.

I never said it was a good plan. Just the plan i think they are rolling with. And I’m guessing likely laid it out for embiid. Frankly don’t think they’d carry it out if he wasn’t on board when they informed him. Then again is the sixers and they are a poorly run franchise so

If they can sign him next summer at the correct price point he great to hold on to.

If he walks for nothing then it's a bad bad move for Morey.
