Unless they get some thing they really want I think they just let them play out their contracts. Embiid and maxey’s cap hold are the only two things on the books next off-season at the moment. So dealing those two players, you want draft assets and expiring contracts. Or good young player(s) on rookie contracts that have value in a potential bigger trade and draft assets.

A good GM can trade these expiring contracts to teams with cap space for draft picks. 

Daryl slept while teams with cap space absorbed other salaries. 

I'm not sure what options, if any, are left. 

Indy, Detroit, OKC all made moves.  

Maybe Spurs can still help?

They have no cap space. 

They do have a little over 12M in the MLE and a little over 4M in the BAE to use. 

They don't need to wait for harden to use those things. 

Unless they wanted to see what they got in return, and use those cap tools on players that complement that. 

But in that case they needed to make the trade happen quickly so that they could actually sign guys.  Instead,  they're getting signed by other teams and we will be left holding the bag pretty soon.

Unfortunately PJ Washington and Grant Williams are restricted or theyd be tops on my list.

 

Of note Mac McClung and Louis King are both listed as UFA and are our best G-League players.

Im all in for the expiring contracts and 1 year deals this year.

DeRozan, or Siakam would be something new and fun to watch for a year without messing up our chances for more heartbreak next summer as all of the free agents choose to play elsewhere and we have nowhere to spend out max contract monies.

Christian Wood, 1 year MLE money. Oubre 1 year BAE money. Harden for DeRozan expiring contract swap... Also with the new additions of Petrusev, and Beverly, its a nice 1 year re-fresh. Also a new playing style hopefully, with the new HC...

They can hold my interest for the year till we see what happens next summer.

I get that, but as much as I like Maxey he's not worth that type of contract. If he was that kind of impact player he would have gotten them out of the 2nd round with Harris and Harden on the team with him.

I could be patient if he wasn't the guy who f'ed up and didn't make the trade with Sac and had to have Harden. I get having space, but it sure doesn't look like players are banging down the door to come play with Embiid. I can't see big FA wanting to come here. I also haven't been a fan of the players he surrounded Embiid with when he has made smaller moves/trades.

nobody. big name free agents don't choose the sixers...i can't remember the last one who did. 

i'm not saying the front office's plan will work...it almost certainly won't. they'll do just enough to keep the arena filled...and to avoid any harsh luxury tax payments. ownership is much more interested in making $$ than winning a championship.

Haliburton is going to make an All Pro team sooner than later. Just unbelievable he was available and they didn't take it.  He had a 40 assist 0 turnovers in 3 games last year and averages a 4/1 assist to turnover ratio
