springer still can't shoot & that will keep him from getting minutes.

I already questioned if he was still slated for a role once they signed Beverly.

I mean, if they can play Thybulle, they can play Springer, but it wont be pretty.

I had hope that his G league offense was going to carry over but he really didnt look any better. He still looks like the guy I said will never develop.

Another miss opportunity playing with confidence based off playoffs. Could have been a high upside 6th man.

he has taken a long time to even start to show signs of blossoming. He was one of my favorites in that draft which feels like 10 years ago already. But yes, at this point he would have been a real nice cheap signing. Daryl doesnt know you if you havent played in Houston. We have no chance.

Im waiting for 5 years too late Terrence Ross just due to his Philly connection. Daryl wont know him but someone in the organization will. I think hes a fairly likely signing for us coming at some point.

As with the Simmons saga, we have entered the season for constant conflicting reports.

Harden requests a trade. Good reason to get the trade done quickly with midnight deadline or next day deadline whatever it was.

Then Harden trade doesnt have to rush.

Then, Harden may not have played his last game with Philly.

Then, Morey IS going to be patient and Harden may be back in Philly.

Now, Harden is not going to return to Philly the door has been slammed shut.

The good news is apparently Beverly taught Chicago how to win last season!

And hes going to do it here!

Yes... at least we have this sideshow now...

Listening to the new wondhorst podcast. Tim McMahon believed Lillard winds up on the sixers over Miami. He went into a long winded reason and neither windhorst and the other guy on the podcast really disagreed

first, Im not willing to give up Maxey with Harden to get it done. 2nd, I have lost a ton of interest in Lillard being that he comes with a 63 million dollar player option at the age of 36.

Let him go somewhere else.

thats crazy. He was drafted in 2018. I liked him a lot. I thought he would be further along by now. Going in to year 6 of his career.

Here's a wild trade proposal that sends James Harden to the Clippers, Damian Lillard to the Heat, and Tobias Harris to the Blazers:

The Blazers reportedly don't want Tyler Herro's big contract because of their multiple young guards and are wanting a 3rd team to take him in a potential Lillard to Heat trade, so there's an opportunity for another team to jump in there. Whether the Blazers value Tobias Harris highly enough to accept that package is another thing entirely, although I would say from the other three teams side the compensation seems fair.

I would think the 6ers arent interested in the Hero contract right now if theyre loading up for summer 24. Also, that Duncan Robinson contract is an albatross we shouldnt have to take back. Only getting one 1st 7 years from now. I dont think its a good trade for us at all.

I think will be this with young guys and picks to fill in the rest.

Yeah, I hear you. It would be contingent on the Sixers valuing Herro as a potential long term piece versus banking on striking big in free agency next year, which would make this trade a non-starter if we're going with the latter. However assuming the former, it looks like the same trade can still be done with Caleb Martin in place of Robinson to avoid taking on that big contract.

Of course this is all a moot point if the Nets pull off that 3 way trade with the Heat and Blazers, but the trade could be reworked to look like this:

A more palatable package for us, but would the Blazers be okay with just two 1st round picks for Lillard? I would expect they are looking for 3-4 first round picks.

I wouldn't even do Harden for Herro if was the Heat.

I don't think Love can be traded and Caleb Martin has a PO in 24/25 so he will decline that. Would Blazers want to pay him 20 a year, I would guess not and he stays with the Heat

It's beyond shocking a GM would trade for Ben at this point.

On Spotrac it's showing he has a 2 year contract with a player option in 2024-2025, but elsewhere it shows that he signed only a 1 year deal. Well I guess he probably can't be traded then 🤷

I feel like Martin is the kind of player that is more valuable to the Heat in their system than other teams, but for the purposes of matching salaries in this big trade, it's not a bad contract compared to Duncan Robinson.

Yeah a player option after this season. At 29, and it's only 7 million no way he picks that up. It doesn't match timeline of Blazers and to pay him.

It's why Simmons is in the trade to add salary and will be 40 million cap space when Blazers are ready to compete with Sharpe and Scoot

He has never taken his diet seriously and people in Philly and Houston have asked him to get in better shape to no avail
