Believe if harden doesn’t show up then the sixers can prevent him from going to another team and signing with another team according to the new cba. The sixers likely dont want to do that as it’s more backlash and they’d want harden’s cap number off the books.

At this point i tend to think the sixers at this point are damned if they do damned if the don’t type of situation. one potential outcome in this if you let this continue out over months, players view Joshua Harris as a bad and absent owner as most players side with other players and players don’t want to come here so embiid asks to be trade next offseason. That doesn’t help the sixers in obtaining that new arena being build as public will be even more against doing it. so possible chance that Harris moves the team out of Philly or decides just to sell the team

it's crazy the redskins fans think joshua harris is savior and he's going to turn them into a contender, im like he's pretty much Daniel Snyder 2.0 maybe worst like he will tank the redskins into browns territory of suckage like never making the playoffs ever, he doesnt care about the sixers, he wont care about the redskins, all about money with him.

If Harden has any evidence that Morey promised him a max deal for taking less last year, and he goes to the league with that…the Sixers are screwed. I wonder if this was a warning shot.

Morey can argue that the handshake agreement was based on Harden conducting himself like a professional and not showing up to critical playoff games hung over and checked out.

Thats sorta besides the point. Youre right, but a handshake agreement is against the rules. And as I pointed out earlier, if such a deal occured, it would have been uncovered in the tampering investigation that already occured. We can rest assured Harden has no proof of anything.

I’m sure he agreement was based on him working his ass off and getting back to what he was pre-injury with the nets and playing like that. I’m guessing harden and his agent interpreted it as they were getting that extension cause morey and him were close so if he was 20-10 in the regular season and saved them twice in the postseason (game 1 and 4) he’d get his money.

I think the issue really is Harden and his agent live in a different world, where they interpret things the way they want to and see if the way they want to instead of what actually there.

this isn’t even defending Morey Cassy is done a bad job this off-season and basically since last off-season with crap. However, I tend to believe he probably told them with stipulations and Harlan and his agent thinking that they were close with Daryl Morey were going to get the contract regardless.

That's good.  They aren't a great partner anyway.

Frankly, this speaks more to the fact, the clippers only wanted him if they were willing to trade him for nothing of value. James Harden and his agent probably finally realize that the Sixers are never going to accept that offer so unless he opened up more teams he was stuck there.

That’s a painful thing to deal with. My mom has it. And there’s only so much you can do for it and she’s dealt with it for 15 years

I think there's something in their team charter that says they have to acquire any remotely talented white player regardless of injury status, so they were pretty much compelled.

Hopefully this means we can get something of value. A young player on the rise who isn't quite a star would be preferable to an old fossil.

For me the worst is during the many occasions throughout the night that I have to get up to use the bathroom.  My heel burns like crazy for the 1st few steps.

Basically what @HazletonEagle was saying.

Harden can counter that Morey has a long history with him and should have known better.

That doesn’t really work, since last year Harden would have wanted to hide evidence from the NBA. This year, not so much.

Or, you know, Harden could lie and make things up. Tell the NBA he and Morey had a verbal contract and make it into a he said, he said. If one party all of a sudden goes from uncooperative to cooperative, things can change.

Hopefully they find a non-Clippers deal that works.

I'm sure the NBA expects teams and players to hide evidence.  But they found tampering anyway.  With two other players,  and not Harden.

The Bulls get to keep Zach Lavine and see how the pairing with James Harden works out, push a potential rebuild to next offseason. DeRozan is still a respectable starter and would help keep the Sixers at least competitive for the season, while on an expiring deal that wouldn't affect the summer of 2024 plans.

The Bulls have two 2024 draft picks: their own and a top 15 protected pick from the Trail Blazers, so this shouldn't hurt their draft capital too much and the Sixers have a young prospect to look forward to in the 2024 draft (or 2025 draft if the protection kicks in).

I like it.  That pick would be in the 15-20 range.

I don’t know if fanspo has updated since the new Cba has kicked in. If harden is traded there’s a $5 mil trade kicker that actually bumps his cap number to close to $41 mil. Unsure how that works in but i know it was a huge issue with sixers/clippers deal if the clippers didn’t get the deal done before the start of new league year on July 1. If both teams are under the first apron then you can maneuver a lot more. If both teams are over the first apron or one team is then i think contracts have to match up to 110%. If both are over the second apron or one team then it has to be dollar for dollar. It’s why if the clippers really wanted James Harden they should’ve gotten a three done before free agency when the new CBA kicked in as they were over the second apron. Because it makes it much harder for them to make a deal with the Sixers as they are over the apron.

I’d try to get dalen Terry in that bulls deal if possible. He’s a long wing that can defend and has the ability to run point. At Arizona he was point guard when kerr got hurt. What makes him so intriguing is he’s a really good passer and in college was a plus level defender.
