Okafor was an excellent player who just got caught in the changing of an era. You could say Sam wasnt ahead of the curve enough on that one. I dont think Saric over LaVine is as bad as it sounds today. Saric was a highly scrutinized overseas prospect who was being looked at closely since he was 15. He was seen as a legitimate point forward in the mold of a LaMar Odom. His passing ability never really got utilized much in the NBA. LaVine was an uber athlete with poor BBIQ, not physical enough and didnt get to the FT line enough, and had a funky release. He was an upside guy while Saric looked like a potential Euro star. With all that said, Sam never claimed to be anything more than what youre saying. He admitted that the draft is a crap shoot, and stated thats why you want to increase the number of chances you have. Sam allowing Embiid to sit for 2 years and Simmons for one year all while developing zero culture of winning or signing any vets still has carryover to this day. Embiid is still a baby and doesn't take accountability. Once Embiid is gone you can start the culture over again and with Holiday going to the Celtics the window is shut.
October 1, 20232 yr Not that they were going to do anything this year anyways, but it’s already over for the Sixers lol

October 1, 20232 yr Theres nothing exciting about any players the 6ers have brought in this year. But its easy to forget we got Nick Nurse to coach. The bench looks solid, and the coaching should actually improve the team. It is exciting to hear Embiid has worked on LOW post scoring this offseason because they expect Nurse to be using him there more. So, we dont have finals aspirations as in years past. But this new system should give us something new to look at for a while anyway.

First off, what was Embiid supposed to do, play with a broken foot? Second, Hinkie wasn’t even here anymore when Simmons was drafted.

It doesn't lessen my point of loser organization and a loser culture. Any fan that thinks the Sixers fan win with Embiid at this point is delusional. Dude is a loser that takes no accountability

How does that work contract wise?

October 2, 20232 yr Author team will take a step back this season...but i think they'll be a lot more fun to watch w/o harden dribbling for 20 seconds each possession and glen's turrible coaching.

October 2, 20232 yr Author i hate how it cuts off the twatters! Quote Nick Nurse spoke on a Plan A & Plan B regarding whether James Harden is there or not. In his plan without Harden, Nurse states "The first thing is Tyrese gets the ball in his hands a lot more. So that just automatically is going to give him opportunities for pace. That’s going to give him opportunities for offensive creation- both for himself and his teammates. It’s going to give him experience in reading defense. He’ll have to go through a learning curve with that...but I think the short answer is he’s gonna get more chances." so maxey would be kinda forced to be more of a playmaker & run the offense as pg.
October 2, 20232 yr Quote Anyone interested in getting Malcolm Brogdon + Jeremi Grant from Portland in a 3-way sending Soften and Tucker to LAC? That would be punting on cap space next summer, but would be a strong team this year assuming Brogdon is healthy, albeit with major cap problems going forward. PG Maxey | Melton | Beverley SG Brogdon | Green | Springer SF Harris | Oubre | Korkmaz PF Grant | Reed | Petrusev CE Embiid | Bamba | Harrell (IR) @Arsenal79 is this you on the other board? Anyway- Im all the way in on this idea. Reason being, when you look at free agents potentially available in the summer- we arent getting anyone who is any better than Grant anyway. Additionally, we may have cap space to get someone via trade, but we dont have assets to actually make a trade happen for anyone worth the money. In a realistic world, Grant is as good as anyone we could hope to sign, and is an actually attainable trade target (presumably.) That team is solid through and through- which I have been saying is the right way to build a roster these days rather than trying to be top heavy with a few stars and no depth. That team has shooting, scoring, iso scoring, defense.... I really like it.
