June 6, 20232 yr It's a mural on a wall. If you like it, stop and admire it. If you don't like it, don't look at it. Problem solved.

And no, you can't in one breath say you want the league to be more welcoming of gay players, and then in the next breath say you prefer sports to just be about sports rather than social messaging. The fact that these players don't feel welcomed is precisely because of these "don't ask, don't tell" types of attitudes. It's not something they should have to hide in the locker room, and while a mural isn't going to change that type of culture overnight, it's at least an indication that there is not direct opposition at the ownership level. Wrong. They are part of a league with that culture. Painting a wall to say look at us is nothing more than emptiness. It's not fighting the fight behind enemy lines. Yes I can. We have a no politics stance in the blog for a reason. We just want to focus on sports. They can and should be welcoming of everyone and if they were I'd have no problem with it. Doing that while the league has that culture isn't them saying we support you even if the league doesn't. It's virtue signaling and that's why I have a problem and why my stance is consistent. Live it and paint the wall or shut up and stay out of empty statements until you do and focus on football.

(whatever the F that means) Quote Live it and paint the wall or shut up and stay out of empty statements until you do and focus on football. They are living it. You, on the other hand, are free to shut up and stay out of the stadium so that you won't be at risk of seeing this wall that upsets you so much. That way you can focus on watching football, and the team can "focus" on making weirdos feel sad inside with a painting on a wall.

(whatever the F that means) If the Eagle's front office doesn't start F'ing every man they see (and each other for that matter), then it's all just hollow virtue signaling as far as I'm concerned.
June 6, 20232 yr I bet these folks are just as upset about the Eagles autism initiatives. What does that have to do with football?

If they are living it they would say we welcome and support any LGBTQ player openly playing in the league and take a stance against how the NFL has been. We are obviously once again going to disagree on this, but one of the last things I'll say is living it and painting that is focusing on football. Doing that while not taking an open/active stance against what the league has done isn't the same thing and that's where I have a problem. Instead of just being like yeah...the league has shunned gays and made them stay in the closet so if they were going to pain that it'd be nice if they lived it and moved on you have to spend a few pages ****ing while complaining I'm ****ing. I'm not sad inside they painted it. I'm not happy with the emptiness of it.

No idea what you want them to do. As far as I know, the Eagle's organization has never kicked anyone off the team for being gay. And if your point is that the Eagle's need to drain the masculinity out of their locker rooms in order to make them more amenable to gays then F that. Let some other team toss a grenade into their own locker room and screw their performance on the field to accommodate inclusion. I'm good with the Eagles just painting a mural, putting out rainbow merchandise and leaving it at that.

Then don't paint something in support of something they don't really get behind. Putting out rainbow merchandise to make a profit and making a social media post to show how inclusive they are seems like emptiness to me. No, I don't want them to f up the locker room, but that doesn't exclude me from also having that opinion that it's virtue signalling at the same time. People who say it's just a mural are right. At the same time that's just my opinion.

For example If a bunch of us were sat in a bar talking and I said 'Damn I saw a programme on serial killers last night man, that serial killer stuff gives me the heebie geebies, imagine meeting one', and then you said 'yeah I don't like Gays', that the whole group would call us both bigots because it's the same thing? HOLYYYYYY SHEEEEIT. First of all, where did you raid "just" in what I wrote? Earlier in this thread I spoke about "thought police" because folks get labeled bigots based on their thoughts about a group, I gave serial killers as an outrageous example. So you're example kinda solidified my thinking, we'd both be considered bigots because of out thoughts about serial killers and fruit loops. 🙂

One you can buy at Bass Pro today and the other you have to wait 6 months+ for a stamp. I'm shocked Kid passed the background check and was able to buy one in Michigan...and that he lives in a town where he can discharge that on his property without it being illegal. AR has become a generic term. Doesn’t matter what you call it, the results are the same. Arguing over semantics is futile.
