they mistakenly reported just the positives and not the negatives:

https://www.winknews.com/2020/07/15/questions-surround-accuracy-of-covid-testing-reports-in-florida/

that's not a false positive.  a false positive would be akin to your wife or girl getting a positive on her pregnancy test when she is not pregnant.

this is mistakenly reporting only people who are confirmed positive and not people who were not positive.  which means, yeah..  the people reported as confirmed positive are still positive with the virus.  the number of confirmed positive is not changing or being skewed.  again if 78 people out of 100 are confirmed positive.  and it's reported as 78/78..  instead of 78/100..  78 people are still confirmed positive.  that did not change.  the lab did not provide a "false positive" as you are saying.

Let's shelf the fact there are false positives and skewed numbers inflating the daily numbers, which are happening for a moment, and focus on your premise that the sky is falling and this is a brushfire out of control.

Only 90 people out of 1000 tested have it based on those results. If your premise was close to being accurate, regardless of if the 14k people a day is true or not, the positive test results wouldn't be in the single digits. That is not something burning out of control. Your 78 out of 100 would be.

That isnt 90 out of 1000 people are catching it...that is only 90 people who have symptoms and get tested out of 1000 tests have Covid.

you keep talking false positives and inflated numbers..  but i already proved that narrative you are pushing is incorrect, so i understand why you would want to move on from it...  so we will.

it's actually 15.3k people in one day, it is true, and florida is reporting it:

Quote

15,300 new positive COVID-19 cases (15,135 Florida residents and 165 non-Florida residents)

how many record new cases do you have to see the US get?:

we are not handling this pandemic well.

we have 3.6 million confirmed positive cases.  we are #1 in the world in positive confirmed cases AND deaths from this pandemic.  uhhhhh..  compared to everywhere else in the world, we are burning out of control.  the next closest country?  brazil.  and we have roughly 1.7 million more confirmed positives and nearly double the amount of deaths (https://www.coronatracker.com/).

and we want to start a league which will take hundreds of players, personnel, and staff around the country?  for our own entertainment? cause we're bored of coronavirus?

florida is NOT reporting false positives which seems to be the meat and potatoes of your argument as to why "the numbers are skewed".  they are reporting the positives and mistakenly did not report the people who tested negative.  this DOES NOT mean the people reported positive is wrong.  they are still positive with covid.  just because a lab did not report people who tested negative, does not mean the people who were reported as positive with covid is incorrect.  the people who tested positive still have covid and were added as part of the record number of cases we are seeing daily.

you are REALLY downplaying how many moving parts there are when a team travels.  they are traveling for AT LEAST 8 WEEKS of the season.  and just a head's up...  this year the team is going to be HOSTING los angeles, dallas, seattle, and new orleans...  along with TRAVELING TO san francisco, dallas, green bay, and arizona..  ALL HOT SPOTS.  and this does NOT include those teams GOING to other cities.

think about the number of people coming in contact with each other.  and ask yourself, if it's really the safest thing..  even with precautions.  again, it's not just head coaches and players..  it's the players, coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, medical personnel, assistants, equipment personnel, IT guys...  that's a LOT of people going from city to city.

it's asking for disaster.  you can put the best precautions in place, but in a time of a pandemic..  travelling, especially with the number of people that a football team requires, is very counter common sense.

Again, if everyone takes responsibility, it can be done.  The issue is that not everyone will do that.  And ultimately, everyone is scared of a virus that has a 99.6% survival rate.

It's not whatever when you have labs reporting 98% when it's 9% or another reporting 76% when it is 6%. This is happening across the country. Those are massive distortions.

Unless they were absolute morons the NFL opened up the opportunity for a season anticipating a spike after quarantine. What we are seeing are massively inflated numbers. Covid is real and there is a spike, but the NFL and other sports are looking at numbers and real time decisions are being made right now based on those inflated numbers that impacts our ability to watch the games we love.

Whatever, man.  My wife is a physician assistant and I can assure the increases, even here in PA now, are not some left wing conspiracy to defeat Trump.  Stay in your lane.

The labs themselves are not used to reporting negative cases, because they typically don't.  It really does not make a difference right now.  FL is a joke.  15K new cases in a single day a few days ago.  That is 4K more than NY had at their height.  Your so clueless it hurts my head.

sigh

One guy on here said his resort alone in Orlando can handle that.

Nice. Does it have 32 NFL quality practice fields and 6-8 game suitable sized fields onsite also?

A little off topic but still in the spirit of the post I think. I'd like to see total deaths from ALL causes for a given month for the past 3 or 4 years. If the total number of deaths per month is not that different from previous years, that would make me wonder about the "Covid deaths" count. It sure seems like there's a political motivation to Covid accounting.

In the Orlando/Tampa area absolutely. They can make it work with 4 to 5 stadiums.

Anyone who has seen my posts over the years knows I am anything but a liberal, not that it should matter.   And I don’t live in the Philly area so I don’t care about channel 3,6 and 10. So you’re 2 for 2.

But I’ll be your Huckleberry.

Where’s the f-ing link you Idiot?  Prove the point.  And one more question, did your dad shoot your good genes on the street or did it just miss the mark all together?  Pretty easy to do in a dark alley.  I get it.

Inquiring minds wanna know.

Your put downs are hilarious.

Nope. No football this year.  I hate to say it, but the whiners and fearful and the media will continue to pound their message incessantly (while no one fact checks the story). The NFL clearly will give into the noise.....and the season will be cancelled.

Not funny to think, but those needing a vaccine (or a safe zone) to proceed with life may still be pounding that drum next year...and the next...and the next.

Add:  If they played a game tomorrow, I'd be there and wouldn't think twice about it.

So..no linky?

Director of CDC believes we could be well on the way to reopening in 4-8 weeks if we could get most Americans to wear masks in public.

NIH indicates that a vaccine may be available in the next 12 - 18 months.

I want to get back to normal and I would love to have football actually happen this year.  What will I do without FF?  Our house is making responsible decisions to keep others safe, hopefully everybody else is too and we can have NFL in 2020.

Yep. Something like 99% of the people who get Covid don't die from it yet people want to risk crashing the economy and missing out on football. They will get a vaccine and then it will be like the flu where it morphs and it's a roll of the dice. This is going to be life for the foreseeable future.

If the current vaccine status remains hopeful, millionaires and athletes will be the first to receive it. That's just the way of the world.

But my doctor told me they personally would avoid a 1.0 version of this vaccine. It's been created too quickly, like the Swine Flu vaccine years ago that killed people.

F Penn State.

Penn State cancelled all non-conference opponents.

No to close to Pittsburgh and I hate Penn State

If they do ping pong balls for the draft and the Eagles get the first pick....

Can't see any other way they do it. The Bengals can't get it automatically. That's another problem they are going to have.

Fans aren’t banned from the games for no reason, you know? It’s for public safety. I’d rather people not die simply because they made the decision to attend an Eagles game.

Watch the game from your tv this year, it’ll save lives

Guarantee if you looked at those figures the death toll would look worse, as an example in the UK when the National Statistics Office counted deaths above the expected average the death toll comes out way over 60,000, whereas the official diagnosed COVID deaths total is around 45,000.
